False Starts

... In Pittsburgh will go up by 2-3 per game now. Flozell is now a member of the Steelers. I'm excited! His performance makes up for his penalties.

If by false starts you mean Big Ben Rapes, then yes they will probably go up this season.

I think there's a direct correlation with "rape" victims and Super Bowls won. Thanks for your optimism!

lmao

He's a good player, but I bet by the end of the season you are going nuts due to the penalties. The only reason Dallas released him is because he was due a huge chunk of change this season.

I understand the frustration some people has with Flozell, but (sorry to bring it up again) a lot of the "fans" wanted him gone because of it. Boggled my mind, honestly.

It's just one of those things that wears you down over time. Just like Roy Williams and his dropped balls. Or TO giving up on routes. When you're a real "fan" you go back and look at losses, why they lost, contributing factors, etc. And a lot of the times in Dallas' case, penalty yards were off the charts. Granted, it's not him and him alone. But he was a big contributor to those penalty yards. Also keep in mind, he's getting older, and he's lost a step. More than once last season he blatantly tripped guys on the opposing DL, and got called for it. It's cause he is having a hard time keeping up these days. The false start deal, will just drive you crazy when you start seeing them rack up like he does. I've heard though, that Flozell is deaf in one ear, and that's the root cause of all the false starts. It kinda makes you feel bad about it, but jesus. They are absurd!

He's still a good player imo.. he's always had false start problems though.

He gave up the 5th most QB pressures (34) and had the 6th most penalties. If the dude could still play I don't think they would have cut him in an uncapped year with a team talented enough to make it to the big game. He's past his prime but he'll give the Steelers time to develop a couple guys instead of throwing rookies or backups in. He's still a great run blocker but his days protecting the QB are over.

I'd like to see where you got those figures from, for my own amusement.

I figured Max Starks' figures would have been about the same.
