I hope he does realize he is going to be the biggest douchebag in the world to his home town fans if he leaves. They said he still wants to live in Akron, good luck with that one. Especially if he ever plays the cavs in the playoffs.

I saw that yesterday and I think no one talked about it. Durant is happy in Oklahoma City, and other than the Sooners and the Cowboys (Oklahoma State), the state dosent have another sports team.

Wasn't there the slightest urge by a 21-year-old who became the youngest scoring leader in NBA history to at least put up a finger in the wind to feel the breeze and the adulation and maybe get his own one-hour TV show to let folks know where he wants to put up jump shots in the future.

"Oh, no!" said Durant, chuckling and shaking his head at the thought. "My situation is different from all those guys. Mine was a little easier. It didn't take all that stuff. I just wanted to keep it quiet. That's the kind of person I am.

"It would have been kind of hard for me to do that after I expressed how much I wanted to be here. I just said how much I love this organization and everybody's belief they've had in me. I couldn't stretch it out like that. Plus I'm a loyal person. I'm glad I'm here with the team. I'm glad I'm locked it. It was a good decision for me."

I'm beginning to be glad that he isn't coming to Dallas. The dude is a walking circus act. Me me me me me me me me me me me. What a douchebag. I'd be interested to hear Jordan's, Byrd's, Johnson's, and Jabbar's feeling on the subject.

FWIW, I won't be watching tonight. But I'm not telling everyone else not to. Maston's just a butt hurt pussy because the NBA is rigged and he is the only one that knows it to be fact. Pay him no mind. He cries like a bitch when he drinks. True Story.

I don't think we should watch on the basis that good ratings will give ESPN a reason to think about doing this to every single big free agent making a signing. It is a waste of time and air. It isn't sports reporting, it is reality tv programming, and that is not what I am looking for when I want to watch tv for sports updates.

Here you go...........for all you people that love the speculation. This is the first story on Yahoo.

Quote:
LeBron James is packing his beach bags for Miami
By Trey Kerby

With all of this meeting hosting, lawsuit fighting and television show having, LeBron James(notes) must be super stressed-out. It is not easy to be made a multi-millionaire in a matter of minutes, you guys. Ergo, it is easy to understand why he would want to kick back and unwind after this week of figuring out which team is most worthy of his considerable talents.

So that's exactly what he's doing, which is not a surprise at all. Everyone deserves a vacation now and then. However, where he'll be partying is more than a little interesting. From US Magazine, favorite of wives around the country:

LeBron James has rented six cabanas at the W Hotel South Beach this weekend to celebrate his team decision, two sources confirm to UsMagazine.com.

That adds more fuel to the fire that James, 25, will announce he's joining the Miami Heat Thursday night, as several insiders told ESPN this morning.

You know what? It is almost like LeBron James likes being in Miami. Consider the fire fueled, and the plot thickened. As any subscriber to Small Businessman Weekly can tell you, there is no better place to connect with four new teammates than in six cabanas in the town where those new teammates are employed. It's just common sense.

[Photos: See images of coveted superstar LeBron James]

Sure, Miami is a very common place to vacation and every day there is like Mardi Gras, but when you consider reports that LeBron is leaning towards joining the Heat, the increased salary cap number and the fact that this vacation takes place just days after "The Decision," things are a little more complicated. It's kind of hard to not assume that LeBron is heading to South Beach to chill with his best bros and new teammates while simulataneously making everyone in Ohio very sad.

Then again, maybe this is just the NBA version of an end of summer bash before everybody gets back to working out for the next season. Supposedly Miami brings the heat, for real. But really, if we don't see grainy pictures of Chris Bosh(notes), Dwyane Wade(notes) and James at an all-white party sometime next week, I'll be very surprised.

This has been a two year event for me.... the NY media started stirring the LBJ is leaving pot a long time ago, and it looks like its actually gonna happen. All i know is if he has a one hour televised special to rip cleveland's heart out, then he will have become the single biggest sellout / traitor in professional sports history.

Lebron is a quiter. Any player who quits just because they are behind and don't think they can come back is a pos. You get paid to play, so play winning or losing.

Thank goodness in a way. They take some heat off the Mavs as being the biggest flop in NBA history. They will win nothing next year. They will be known as the fab 3 who never were. If you think Stern will allow 3players to come together just to exploit the NBA other than the Lakers, then you got another thing coming. Stern and his boys owns this outfit from top to bottom. NBA is nothing but a rigged money making scheme. Don King should be running it.

You don't think he might be thinking it would be good business to create a mini dream team within the nba? Can you imagine every arena they go to sold out, along with all the hype the media machine will make. Imagine all the marketing the NBA is going to be able to put behind this, and the money it will bring in.

No sir, Stern is grinning ear to ear right now.

I really don't care where he went. Having said that, he just lost alot of respect with me and a whole bunch of other folks. This press conference was just a clever way to give the middle finger to Cleveland. It's pretty dicked off!

Cleveland would of been able to give him more money, max deal. 20+ mil a year. Miami would only be able to offer 15-17 mil a year, he took less at a better chance to win a ring.

He's a bitch but I don't blame him. Who the fuck wants to live in Cleveland.

He would have made more money in Cleveland. Get your facts straight hippie!

It's a league filled with primadonnas stroking their own egos so I shouldn't be surprised by this whole charade, but what was the trouble with signing a contract and holding a regular old press conference to announce it?
