NFL Free Agency

it's started already! So anyone surprised at some of the moves so far?

Jake Delhomme getting released didn't shock me at all I think it was about time he got cut. Do ya'll think they will stick with Moore?

I fucking hope the Patriots don't get Julius Peppers' that would suck.

Nate Burleson already signed with the Lions I didn't see that coming....

we might lose Miles Austin, marcus Spear, And Ken Hamlin.... Jerry Jones gave spears an offer but then turned arund and offerd his Spears back up's more money (that bullshit). Jerry also only ofered Austin 3 mill. He should have at least gave him 5 or 6 mill

The receiver essentially has been offered a one-year contract for $3.168 million, but Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has said he'll consider giving Austin a longer, more lucrative deal.

That's what it say's on NFL.com... Lol I bet that's how Brandon Marshall felt when He thought He should be payed more as well. As for Spears I don't care too much for him he's decent though. Ken Hamlin I'd still like to see in a Dallas uniform but Jerry want's Mays.

Scratch what I said in the first post Julius Peppers' just went to the Chicago Bears I believe. Also Chester Taylor the running back for the vikings.

Chromarte signed with the Jets I Believed, that will be a good secondary with him a Revis at the corners. I think there are a couple of places that Jake Delhomme could end up. I think who should go after him is my Rams cause Marc Bulger sucks.

Marshall would fit right in.... Big wide outs just like in usc.

The Bears have agreed to terms with DE Julius Peppers, NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi reports. Peppers will receive a six-year contract worth $13.3 million annually. He’s guaranteed to receive $40 million in the first three years, according to Lombardi.

wonder if Derrick Mason is going to comeback or not? This time last year he first said he was going to retire, and the Ravens and him talked and Mason decided to play last year. I think if he does decided to play again, it makes the Ravens even better. Now Mason dosent have to be Flacco's main target, he can be a role player. Also if Clayton can finally become the WR that the Ravens drafted him for, now they will have a juggernut at offense when you look at what they could do on offense. Combined with that running attack with Rice, Mcclain and Mcgahee.

Woooooooow I'm kind of shocked at the Ravens moves this year so far. Derrick Mason agreed to a two year deal with the Ravens. They have also aquired Donte' Stallworth aka "Mr. DWI" & Anquan Boldin. I believe they have plenty of playmakers now and can go far in the playoffs.

Lmfao at Jake Delhomme visiting with the Browns that would be the biggest mistake of his career.

So the Bengals picked up Antonio Bryant where does that leave Terrel Owens now??

Why? I'd say it's a terrible move on the Browns part, but not for Delhomme.

Delhomme fucking sucks. He's really, really, really, really, really fucking terrible. Whoever said Bulger sucks and they'd take Delhomme, would be getting more of the same. Delhomme doesn't have it anymore, not that he ever really did.

That's what I was trying to say.... Delhomme already sucks so bad that going to a team like the Browns would only make him far worse.

Well the Ravens have a great running attack, but outside of the first 3 games they couldnt move the ball through the air. So getting some other weapons for Flacco was a good move.

Terrell Owens will be either picked up by a borderline playoff team like Arizona or a team looking for popularity like Buffalo did. But then again their is his ego. Will he accept being the 2nd option on a good team? How much will he ask? If he still has that Im the greatest thing since sliced bread, then he will probably be able to count the teams on one hand.

Browns traded Brady Quinn to the Broncos for Peyton Hillis and 2 draft picks.

Side not: This comes after the Browns sign Jake Delhomme to a 2 year deal and acquired Seneca Wallace from Seattle. <- Now that's a serious "WTF?".

If you've come to expect more than absolute failure or, at best, severe mediocrity from the Browns, you've been living on another planet for the last eight years.

The only expectations I have for them is getting one of the top 5 draft picks every year.

Jerry Jones has been awfully quiet... What do ya'll Dallas fans think he has up his sleeve?

So LT went to the Jets.. Good or bad? I think Tomlinson could have gone to a few more teams that had a better shot at the Super Bowl then the New York Jets. Honestly I think San Diego has more of a shot.

His hands are tied. I think the Cowboys are only allowed to sign ONE free agent this year, and the salary they are allowed to pay him is shit. Which means, he isn't going to get anyone worthwhile. The NFL put restrictions on all the teams that made it to the playoffs. I'm pretty shocked the Jets were able to sign LT, in all honesty.

I'll have to dig up some info to back up what I said. Give me a few.

EDIT:

http://www.dallascowboys.com/news/ne...1B34E49BE8B107

Google Final Eight Rule for more. It's the same reason your Saints aren't going to be doing anything big.

Unless a new collective bargaining agreement is reached by March 5, the start of the new league year, the NFL will operate without a salary cap in 2010. Restrictions are in place to prevent a free-agent gold rush, though, and one in particular - the Final Eight rule - directly affects the Cowboys.

The final four playoff teams - Colts, Saints, Jets and Vikings - will not be able to sign an unrestricted free agent unless they lose one of their own. The four teams that lost in the divisional round - Cowboys, Cardinals, Chargers and Ravens - have the same constraints with two exceptions: they can sign one unrestricted free agent with an estimated Year One salary of at least $5.5 million, or sign any unrestricted free agents with an estimated first-year salary of $3.7 million or less.

As Jones indicated, the Cowboys still have some flexibility to sign moderately-priced free agents. But concerning their own roster, only backup guard Montrae Holland qualifies as unrestricted and 13 players, including starters Miles Austin, Gerald Sensabaugh and Marcus Spears, will be restricted because they have fewer than six accrued NFL seasons. That rule means many other young, high-profile players across the league will be off the market, too.
