Mavs at Atlanta

This is the last legit playoff team that the Mavs will face for a couple weeks. If they can win in Orlando on the road, they can do the same here. They got us earlier this year, so I expect revenge.

Orlando should've beaten Dallas, they had a 10 point lead in the 2nd Quarter and the Magic couldnt hit a 3 to save their life. If they would've gone inside then I think it would be a different score.

That being said, Atlanta is a pretty good team. They beat the Jazz in Utah which was a first since 1993 when Wilkins dropped 43 points. On the flipside they also blew a big 4th quarter lead against Golden State a week ago. Josh Smith, Al Hortford, and Mike Bibby are going to be the guys to stop, but also Dallas needs to have an answer for Jamal Crawford off the bench. He can have a spark.

I honestly think Mavs got their $hit together...Should be a close game...Atlanta is just a young team full of energy with good shooters...

Holy shit what a back and forth game. Atlanta was up by 5 in the 1st, then Dallas went on a 16-0 run. Then Dallas fell down by 15. Then Kidd was flippin awesome in the 4th quarter, not to mention the brilliant move for running into the Hawks coach while he was out on the floor and drawing a technical. OT here we come.

Oh, and Caron Butler didn't play again tonight.

That Technical was BS. Kidd pushed him and he was already behind the line.

It was brilliant by Kidd. Yes, I think the coach made it off the floor in time, but he's not supposed to be that far out on the court to begin with.

What a come back. Good game and the Mavs really tightened down on the defense to win the game. Can't say the tech was BS, the guy shouldn't have been on the floor in the first place.

Coach should have kept his ass off the court. Dallas was already in the offensive zone and he was still on the court. What was BS was his poor coaching when Dallas went to the zone.

I'm very excited about this win. Dallas made a huge comeback in the final 6 mins...on the road in a hostile environment. I like the mental toughness displayed and I think it's gonna serve them well in the playoffs.

In the last 6 games, the Mavs have beaten 4 very strong playoff teams in the Suns, Orlando, the Lakers, and the Hawks...2 of those on the road...and the last 2 without Caron Butler. I like what I'm seeing!

That was the best game this season, I really think that win was better than against the Lakers the other night.

I think the Lakers win was bigger. Just because I think the Lakers really brought their A game and attitude and still lost. Of course, that was a home game. This was a game in the Hawks house.

Awesome game. I started to watch it when the Mavs were losing 69-61. Change the channel and came back and they were down like 13 points. Kid was missing several 3 point shots and Dirk wasn't any better. And bam 5 minutes left and the Mavs went off.

That no look pass by Kidd was sick. Reminded me when he was a rookie.
The only thing I didn't like was the refs were not calling any fouls on the Hawks. Fouls that were clear as day. But in the end it payed off for the Mavs.

IMO, best game of the season, that i've seen.

Yeah, I agree. Winning takes care of issues sometimes, but that still bugged me too. Najera got pushed around like a rag doll several times. There were opportunities for at least 3 or 4 offfensive fouls to be called against Atlanta.

Oh, and the Jazz lost last night too, so we leap-frogged them in the standings. 2 weeks ago, we were only 2.5 games from the 8 seed. That's been spread back out to 5 and we're only 1.5 games behind Denver for #2. If we keep the 3 or higher, we wouldnt face the Lakers until the conference finals....a scary matchup, but one I'd love to see.

I just finished watching the game after taping it last night. WOW! Best game all season so far for me. I can't believe the game Kidd had. He wasn't far from having 20 rebounds and 20 assists and the bumping of Woodson was hilarious!

I predicted two years ago the Kidd trade would work out in the Mavs favor. It took longer than expected but alot of that was because of Avery and his iron grip control over the team which worked against a point guard like Kidd who needs to react on the court. It sucked giving up young talent like Devin Harris but he still hasn't progressed into an elite point guard like many predicted. Sure he is on a horrible team but he is light years from being a DWill or Chris Paul. I said back then that Kidd gives the Mavs the best chance to win right now with Dirk aging and the Mavs feeling the pressure to win it all.

I am pretty unfamiliar with the guy except that he averaged about 10 ppg last season with Houston. Hard to believe if he was that good he would fall behind in the pecking order with Barea,Stevenson, and Beabouis.

I'm still beaming from ear to ear after that win last night. At this point in the season, I think it was the most exciting win of the year while the Laker game was the best win of the year. We needed to Laker game to prove that the trade worked and closed the gap between us and them. It did exactly that. While they still look better in a 7 game series, we match up well and if we're hot come playoff time, you never know what can happen. The Atlanta game gives us confidence in a different sense, that even down by 15 pts with 6 mins to go in the game, you're still not out of it. I'm just really impressed by the play in this 6 game winning streak. I mean, we beat a Phoenix team that has won 11 of 13 now....Orlando, LA Lakers, and Atlanta. These are all top tier teams. I can't wait til Caron comes back and they get a few practices together as a team. This team can be dangerous!

He was a great support player I thought, and made clutch shots when needed. He helped a lot in the playoffs.

This was definitely a game of streaks...first our 20-X streak, then theirs.... we looked bad again in the 3rd quarter, but came back around in the fourth. Kidd was RIDICULOUS in the 4th! Truly as Carlisle said "a game for the ages." I was watching it live and during the 4th I reached over and hit record on the DVR because I'm going to want to watch that 4th quarter/OT again! Excellent game. Hope Caron isn't having too much of a problem with his knee. I see us being even better after we get Damp back to pair with Haywood.

Mavs finally seem to have their heart back, all season pre-trade they just seemed to be going through the motions. it can all be summed up in one word...SACK! and they finally have found one again.

I'd like to also add that JJ played pretty good last night, much better than I've seen him in an a while. The play that Kidd did against the Atlanta coach... Brilliant simply brilliant.
