Dunking for Haiti

Shaq, and apparently Steve Mariotti on Around the Horn, suggested that all the stars (Lebron, Kobe, Vince Carter, etc.) participate in the dunk contest and donate half the money to charities for Haiti.

Sounds like a good idea to me and I'd personally like to see Josh Smith get in there and regain the throne.

the nba has a messed up process on who is eligible in to compete in the dunk contest. Its like the first 4 years and thats it. Seriously, who in the NBA is a good dunker and has been in the league in only 4 years? Make it an open competition and make it like a 200,000 dollar prize for charity or whatever.

Imagine the dunk contest being
Kobe Bryant
Vince Carter
Jason Richardson
Josh Smith
Andre Iguodala
J.R. Smith

The only guy that might not do this competition would be VC cause of his knee problems the last few years.

thats cause he would go to begin with. remember a year ago he said that he was going to be in this years dunk contest. Hes a liar. Kobe and Vince might pass cause of their age, which is understandable. Vince hasnt had a big dunk in a year or two.
