Rangers 2010 Season Thread

Figured we might as well start this since I saw the headline.

What are your thoughts about Vlad coming to the Rangers? Didn't have a real great season last year, but there's still some greatness left in him, no?

Who's he supposed to replace/complement? I guess it'll be nice not having to pitch around him...

Anything less than making the playoffs will be a disappointment this year. The talent is there and the chemistry is coming together, they just need to figure out how to make it all click at the same time.

Vlad should solidify the sketchy batting order, but I don't expect him to have a renaissance year or anything.

this would be one hell of a line up both offensively and defensively.

1. Elvis Andrus SS
2. Micheal Young 3B
3. Josh Hamilton CF
4. Vlad Guerrero DH
5. Ian Kinsler 2B
6. Nelson Cruz RF
7. David Murphy LF
8. Jarrod Saltalamacchia C
9. Chris Davis 1B

the pitching will once again be solid with another year of coaching from Maddox. rumor has it the rangers are close to signing Ben Sheets also.

i can't wait for April!

Hold the phone, the Rangers picked up Vlad Guerrero? When did that happen? I have been in the hospital for a week, and haven't seen the news.

If Vlad's fully healed he should do something solid this year.

I'd love to see the Rangers do something, it'd be nice to have an mlb winner around here.

Can't believe they didn't find a way for him......he came on strong at the end of the year........it still comes down to pitching......

Can the young guys continue to play at the same level? Triple H's must continue......Harrison, Hunter and Holland......

Will Scooter be the Ace?

Will Harden be healthy all year?

What to do with Feliz?

Most of the questions are all about the pitching......as usual!

The reason anything short of the playoffs would be a disappointment is because the Rangers' brass has been shoving "2010 is our year" down our throats for 4 fuckin' years. And you know what? NO FUCKING CHANCE. No one runs the Rangers now (in flux). They wont spend any money, They'll sign a couple names with huge asterisks (Sheets, Harden, Vlad) and hope they pan out. Who is gonna pitch, catch and roam center?

This team is a joke and will try solely to make money this year. It's the AL version of the Nationals. Go out there and operate in the black fellas!

so fuckin'

they had him all but signed last year but he was hurt and from what i understand, they are talking again. since his surgery, he has been rehabbing at TMI Sports Medicine in Arlington which happens to be owned by Keith Meister, MD who coincidently happens to be the team doctor.

but, of coarse it all comes down to money.

Of course, I prefer they just stay down there with the Nationals.

As far as the Rangers go, I thought they were so close last year. Hopefully they don't get screwed by the tightened purse strings of a new owner(when it happens).
They are my AL team also. Seattle got stronger and you can never count a Mike Scioscia managed-team out.

And he ends up with neither of those teams. I just read on CNN Sports that Sheets signed within our division...the Oakland As for $8 million.

Well Khalil Greene didn't report to Spring Training because of a bout with social anxiety. Hopefully they square this away or the Rangers go and get Felipe Lopez, but I doubt #2 will happen. I can't believe John Smoltz is still a free agent too.

And Hank B. still hasn't been picked up. I hope he finds a place to play and does well but it doesn't bite the Rangers in the ass.

I forgot to mention that there are talks of CJ Wilson working his way into the front half of the rotation.
