Welcome Home Tuberville, Texas Tech's Head Coach

Lubbock, Texas--Texas Tech's sports radio station, 1340 KKAM, announced today that Tommy Tuberville is officially Texas Tech's newest captain.

Tuberville has already stated earlier that he is not going to change the offensive spread.

He has also stated that he is not sure to what changes in the staff he is going to change, but is going to probably keep everybody offensively.

He also said that his name is going to be the biggest selling point to keeping the recruiting class that Mike Leach signed.

Tommy Tuberville is coming back to West Texas, back to his roots. This part of the country has a way doing that to people. I did it. His mom was born in Seminole, Texas, which is about an hour and a half from Lubbock.

Right now, only time will tell.

I'm giddy and totally wearing my Auburn shirt to work tonight!

Welcome home Coach Tuberville, your a sight for sore eyes!

War Eagle, Wreck em Tech!

Seems like a great hire. I do think he will be a huge asset to the recruiting end. I hope his first order of business is to shit-can the James kid...

It might take a little time to recruit/develop those defensive players, but he'll get there quicker than I'd like.

It's amazing how easy it is to sway the crowd. I had friends swearing off Tech and selling season tickets when Leach was fired. Now they're talking about buying more and better tickets along with donating to the stadium expansion. I like Ruffin, but don't think he's head coach material, so I'm happy with the decision. Now we'll find out how the players feel and see if they show up next year.

From what I know of Tuberville, if the players don't "show up", he'll get some that will. The guy's for real, and will really help Big 12 football, along with Tech.
