I like Najera a lot....but I just don't know about this. Hump was doing a lot for us and is a lot younger than Najera. I'm divided on this...big time.

So does Hump.

Hump - 24 y/o
6-9 235
3.2MM - 3.2MM
43% shooter (career)
58% free throws (career)
4 pts per game
3 rbs per game

Eddie - 33 y/o
6-8 235
3.1MM - 2.8MM - 2.6MM
49% shooter (career)
67% free throws (career)
5 pts per game
4 rbs per game

So for 9 years older and 4 more years in the league, you would take Eddie with career averages of 1 more point, 1 more rebound, 6% greater shooting, 9% greater free throws even at 1 more year on contract and owed 1.1MM more?

I don't like the deal the more I look at it.

This deal was all about money... It's saving Mark Cuban a pretty big chunk of luxury tax money and the Mavs lose a player that wasn't doing much for them.

We are taking back more than we are sending with the the Hump/Eddie swap...so the only other thing is Shawne Williams...so Cuban could have just waived him to save that on the tax aspect. No reason to trade.

I love Eddie, but I don't like this trade. Eddie has no potential. He is what he is. Hump was is still developing and I think has many years of better ball coming. Williams was never going to see our court and that's fine. I think maybe they wanted playoff experience. He is just going to add experience to our depth chart.

Hump has a 3.2 Mil player option, he wont walk away from that. Najera's 2 years left are non guaranteed. Guess it was a money move to save some LT next year, and it opens a roster spot. Maybe they like to bring back Voskuhl as insurance or preparing a bigger trade. We also picked up a trade exception in the deal. I liked Humphries as a player, but he wasn't going to get many minutes here.

I don't get the Mavs, why do they always bring back players they released or traded off? It was for a reason, why bring them back. I don't get it

You are just all about this guy aren't you?

Is it just me or does he look different? He looks like he got plastic surgery on his nose or something.

Aaaannnnnddddd got 3 fouls in the first quarter....lol. I don't think he's the player he used to be, but he did add the 3-pointer to his arsenal. His first two shots while being back were 3's and they were both good. He's played some in the last two games.
