I was thinking about finding this footage. First time I have watched it. That was a blatant dirty play. There was no need for that. There has to be something underlying in the whole situation, or that guy is just an idiot and should be banned from the league.

Ray Lewis got a $25k fine for a similar hit. I wonder what will happen with this one.

I think $50k and a 10-game suspension might be adequate...

He got a 1 game suspension.

I think he should be banned from the league, personally. For the NFL being all about safety these days (see: bullshit calls against people that hit the QB), they sure seem to be talking out of both sides of their mouth.

1 game. That is pretty weak. He had no reason for the hit. It wasn't a play on the ball, or a hit to knock the ball out of his hands. It should not have even happened and there was no remorse of any kind afterwards. I would have thought a 5 game suspension would have been more likely.

Just goes to show Goodell is a flaky cocksucker and has his own agenda. Of course none of them will ever admit to favoritism.

That's the name of the game. Personally, I think they should of just let him play the rest of the game so the Buccs marked him. He would get smashed on every play over and pver until he finally gave up. I punt returned in high school and in college. This play is shitty but that's why there are pads and helmets.

That is NOT the name of the game. There's a huge fucking difference between what took place here, and some minor helmet to helmet contact on a QB. When I played, you'd be in deep fucking shit for something like this. In fact, I can recall certain people being kicked off the team for pulling chickenshit stunts like this. Inexcusable. Goodell doesn't have a hair on his ass if he doesn't ban this thug for life.

lol I don't think any of them have a problem admitting favoritism towards QBs. They're the masterminds of the offense and almost always the team leader. They're the faces of the league, and when a starter goes down, it usually spells trouble for the entire team, which is going to result in less revenue for both the league and the team. A punt returner...not so much.

But I agree with this. Some of those tools on The Fan were talking about how it's part of playing football. That's a bunch of horseshit. There's a fine line between making a play and blatantly knocking someone the fuck out, and Wesley jumped over it.

Hell, if that's it, then why not put a 3rd stringer on the punt-coverage team, and his job is to "head-hunt" the top punt returner? Just take his ass out before the ball gets there. A shot like that could easily end a career.
