NHL Teams on the Move

I see two teams relocation to new cities in the very near future.

New York Islanders- Owner want to build a new super sports complex to house the team, local government can't make up their mind to help out. Owner set a dead line and says he will explore options elsewhere.

I see them going to Kansas City in 2010.

Phoenix Coyotes- Lost millions and millions for the past 3 years, declared chapter 11 went for auction and judge said no one wins. Team has to play another year is Glendale. City of Glendale won't cut any one a break as to the cost to play in that shitty arena. NHL is in control of the team and will have to make a quick sale at the end of the year.

I see the team going to Seattle in 2010.

I hope you are right, I would like to see another team in Canada and the Islanders have a history in Long Island. The question is will Betman let another team go to Canada?

Not sure which one will go, but one of them will go to Canada. I bet the other goes to Vegas. I just can't see KC getting a team with the Blues in SL.

He'd be an idiot not to. If he wants a team to sell and grow, Canada is the place to do it.

I already think he's an idiot for not letting Balsillie buy the Coyotes and move them to Hamilton.

Putting a team in Vegas is no different then a team in Pheonix. It will be a bust. Thats just my opinion.

Thats all because Bettman hates Balsillie.

I feel the same way, but the "rumors" i've heard, is that is one of the most likely next stops for an NHL team. The western conference definitely needs more out west. With the influx of all the Eastern teams actually in the East, and the West spread out all over, it only makes sense.

If thats the case they should consider a place where hockey is a part of life. What about Seattle, Salt Lake City, Portland? Shit for that matter maybe even Houston.

i think the NW would benefit more. Especially to the Cali and Canadian teams in that side of the world. Houston, maybe. I just see another Houston Oilers thing happening there though.

I think Houston could have a good market. Dallas vrs. Houston battle would be nice to see. I lived in Calgary for many years and the battle of Alberta (Calgary vrs. Edmonton) was and is always a great game.

Hell yeah! I'd love to see the old Jets back and Hartford and Quebec and have it be the old NHL again.

AS LONG AS BETTMEN IS IN CHARGE THERE IS LITTLE CHANCE OF A TEAM GOING TO cANADA. He is living his pipe dream of making hockey a glamor sport.
