Coming back for another year could also help Gresham if he is truly injured and will miss part of the season and possibly not be at 100%. I don't have my hopes up that they are doing that, but I don't think it is that big of a stretch all things considered.
Everything this week has been wierd, I don't know really what to think. There are new reports out that Gresham is only getting a scope and could be back by the Miami game.

My thinking is Gresham only came back because maybe this knee issue has been a real problem and feared not passing a physical for the NFL combine and he wanted to toughen it up one more year in college.........that's a long shot as well, but interesting.

ESPN is reporting he's getting scoped. They'll base a decision after that. If everything is okay, then 2 weeks. If the cartilage needs to be stitched together by surgery, then he's done for the year (that's according to Stoops).

I wouldn't trust anything ESPN reports. It only took them 2 days after the event to report what happened.

Yes, that's what I was calling the conspiracy. Not knocking what you're saying, but that's a pretty damn big conspiracy theory.

Season could be in the tank and they might have had higher expectations than reality would allow. With Gresham out for the whole year, he will be back for sure. The o-line and receivers get another year under their belt, Texas loses McCoy and Shipley, and Okie St. will have to re-tool after Bryant and Robinson are gone, pickings are ripe for Bradford to return for another shot. Especially if the season goes as expected and the Bradford hype will be gone by the end of the year. He can come back next year and be the sole focus in the Big 12 as far as quarterbacks go, get his hype back, get another year of experience. Not only that, I would guess he would have graduated by then, being his 5th year, so he can focus only on football, get stronger and faster for the NFL. Of course, that is just me wishing and thinking out loud too.
While the probability of that happening is reaching (as you said), there are some very valid points and Bradford is the Vince Young of Norman (popularity wise, relax Horns).

if Bradford can come back 100% healthy, i think he will. If not, it wouldn't surprise me to see both of them sit out the season and enter the draft. I don't think either one wants to come back and risk injury again. At least, not without a paycheck in their pockets

Even if OU can shore up the front line? Maybe when they get a few games under their belts, they will be able to protect the QB better. I can't imagine a Heisman winner sitting the bench, but maybe so.

now Eldrige(sp?), who moved from TE to OC and back to TE, seems to have broke his hand in practice

I'm obviously a die hard OU fan, but this is pretty damn funny.

All I can do at this point is laugh. That's what I have to keep telling myself.

What can you do? All the injuries to this point are rediculous, I just feel sorry for Gresh and Sammy B. for coming back this year and not being able to finish.
