It's freaking 2:30 on Wednesday and this thread hasn't been started???

I'll take the over/under at 80 points.

Um...we tend to focus on games that are this week?

And you are taking the over/under? going to put 50 on each? why not just pick the over or under?

Discuss.

We've already missed out on 3 games we weren't supposed to but could have and probably should have. We need to win this game against a horrible team in an authoritative manner to provide some hope for next season.

I'm really much more excited about fucking with the Corps during their yell practice. That's going to be a fucking blast.

Hahahaha. Word of warning though, I'm told the police in Lubbock patrolled it pretty well, so you may want to have an escape route planned/reason to be there.

A Waco homer defending his 3-7 team... When UT scored 50+ on Mizzou, they were "over-rated"...

Of course, going to Baylor ruined two promising college players.
Baylor certainly ruined Mike Singletary's career.

And they got penalized for it if I remember correctly, which sent the program in a downward spiral. What they did is not unlike what OU, USC, UT ect have done.

That's a whole truckload of speculation. Hell, if you want to play that game, Ryan Leaf could have gone to the Super Bowl if San Diego hadn't drafted him.

Speaking of Ryan Leaf, did anyone see where he lost his job at West Texas A&M? He was the QB coach, and asked a player for soem of his pain medication. He was "relieved" of his position.

What I think is going to be intersting is all the talk of Venables and Wilson and the head coach vacancies...........remember in '03 Mike Stoops started talking with other teams and OU got their asses handed to them in the Big 12 Champ and also lost in the NC game..........will it be another distraction? I too am glad this game is in Norman, if it were Lubbock, I don't know that I'd give OU a chance.

I have Tech in a classic shootout 45-38.

Is Austin English going to play in this game? I think he could really give our huge O-line a problem. Again, if Harrell has time he will pick any team apart. I feel confident in our offense against their D. I never though I would ever say this but I think OU has a slight edge on offense, but Tech has the advantage on D!

Austin won't be playing and the D-Line depth is very slim........that will be a deciding factor in my opinion as well. If Harrell gets time he will absolutley have a field day. I think these teams are about as evenly matched as they have ever been.........OU's pass D is 90th while Tech's is 96th, OU's run D is 21st while Tech's is 20th.........OU leads the Big 12 in total D but hasn't played the Missouri's or Tech's..........it will be the toughest test BY FAR!

We'll give Venables to Clemson and take Mike back.

I don't think either team can stop the other, but OU has been pretty good picking up turnovers and not giving any....that could be the difference in the game. Both teams are outstanding, it's going to be a fun one!!

When did fucking FU surpass OU in BCS Rankings? I know it is somewhat of a good thing seeing that OU at #5 shouldn't surpass UT at #3 even if OU beats TTU at #2. Wow things are fucked up......Damn UT fucking everything up by losing to TTU.

No Texas should've won that game against tech. Blame it on that dumbass that drop that INT and everything would have been fine.

Ah. I've got where you were going with that.

Anyone that gives Florida a chance to be in the Title game should be shot. Florida, Miami and FSU all drive me nuts and there's nothing worse than seeing them getting gifted into the Championship game.

Florida should be there if they beat Bama....and it looks like it could be a gimme. Florida could quite possibly be the best team this year and just might win the whole enchilada. I hate saying that as I am anti-SEC and a big fan of the Big 12 in general and primarily being a big UT fan. I just don't want TTU to win out or Choklahoma to surpass UT for the sake of them going to the MNC and losing against a SEC team. It is almost a given that it is going to be a Big 12 team vs. an SEC opponent. Nobody knows who yet.....and thats saying that whomever wins the South can beat Mizz. Wouldn't that just be terrible....Mizz winning the Big 12 Championship and seeing the Big 12 falter out of the MNC. Anything is possible as we have seen that over and over this year.

I think Oklahoma wins by 10+ points.

Every year that they play, Oklahoma holds Tech below they're season averages on offense. (points and yards) Contribute that to the fact that Leach was here at Oklahoma, and Stoops understands how to defend that offense fairly well. (Stoops was also one of the few defensive coordinators in the SEC that could consistantly stop/slow down stop Leachs Kentucky offense while at Florida) So, there is alot of history there.

I think these teams are about as evenly matched as two opponants could possibly be. Playing in Norman is the X- Factor. Oklahoma plays so well at home.

Heres an article, that supports my beliefs about the outcome as well.........

Mike Leach’s spread offense has aggravated defensive for nine years at Texas Teach, attracting a multitude of schemes designed to slow down the Red Raiders’ aerial attack. Zone blitzes, dime packages, three-man fronts, bump-and-run—by this point, Leach has no doubt seen it all. When the Oklahoma Sooners take the field in Norman on Saturday night, the answer to shutting down Tech may not have anything to do with generating a consistent pass rush or double-covering star receiver Michael Crabtree. In fact, the key may be right below the Sooner defenders’ feet. For all the hype surrounding Tech’s PlayStation-like production, the Red Raiders have a decidedly average offense when they’re not playing on artificial turf, according to an analysis of data provided by cfbstats.com.
Superman has Kryptonite. Mike Leach has grass.

Since 2004, Tech has played a total of 60 games, 45 on turf and 15 on grass. During that period, the Red Raiders have put averages of 43.1 points per game and 499.2 yards of total offense per game on artificial turf. In comparison, the national medians for all teams on all surfaces are averages of approximately 26 points and 320 yards.

What happens when the Raiders play on the real stuff? Tech’s averages drop considerably: 22 points per game and 360 yards. On a per-play basis, Leach’s teams have averaged 5.0 yards per play on grass versus 6.9 yards per play on turf. Each offensive play generates an average 0.27 points on grass against 0.59 points per play on turf.

The disparity even holds true when it comes to taking care of the ball. Since the 2006 season, the Red Raiders have averaged 2.2 turnovers per game on grass, while they have turned it over an average of just one time on turf.

And one more thing to consider as well....

There are 3 stadiums in the Big 12 that still use real grass.

Texas
Colorado
Oklahoma

And there are only three stadiums in the Big 12, that Leach has NEVER won a game at. (Care to guess which three those are?)

My guess for the final score.....

TT - 37
OU- 51

El wrongo. Okie State has grass. A&M has grass. Baylor has grass. Mizzou has grass. I believe Iowa State plays on grass.
