Mavs vs Lakers

Hope I'm not jinxing anything by posting this, but the Mavs have played well tonight. Hell, Dampier has been a man on fire grabbing rebounds. Currently, Mavs lead the Lakers 75-65 with 2:19 left in the 3rd. Hopefully the Mavs can finish this off with a W and right the ship a little.

F*cking Gerald Green is a little stud. It's exciting to watch him play.

That's all we've done this season is burn out late. I guess this fast paced offense is only good for 3 quarters.

Yep...this is the Dirk we've always known. I've only seen him take it to the hole one time when it actually mattered...game 7 against the Spurs in '06 to win the game.

Only reason the Mavs kept it close is because Josh was out. If he would have been in the Lakers would have blown them out.

You gotta love Stackhouse and his anti-clutch brick shots.

as much as i would like to shit talk stack, he hit 2 big threes, got a steal and a fast break in the 4th and kept the game from blowing up open when LA got momentum. biggest thing he did was limit kobe fairly well in the 4th so we didnt lose to a single player.

dirk was throwing up trash shots in the 4th, so stack throwing up trash too didnt bother me too bad. the problem with the mavs is still the same thing it has always been... they need a baller. i counted several occasions where the mavs got their shots (layups!) in the paint but have no agression and can't/won't jam the rock through the rim.

Besides the stars last year which was a big suprise, all the Dallas teams for all most a decade has sucked. Yes I know the mavs went to the championship but they are the first team in NBA history to lose it after leading 2-0. So they sucked cause looked what happen the next year.

I couldn't agree anymore! They have no dominate presence in the paint, they've never had that "big guy" center that they've needed for years. Brandon Bass is their strongest guy but when it comes to guarding Shaq, Yao, Amare, etc he's over shadowed by them. Diop and Dampier come to play every other game or so, never been consistant enough.

And too many of their players are afraid to take it to the basket at times, I mean at least draw the foul. That's where I miss Devin Harris

it think b.bass and g.green are about the only people willing to dunk. everyone else is afraid of hurting their hand.

they left 6 points off the table in the 2nd half trying to lay up and missing.

They never had the chance to get Kobe. The only way they were going to get kobe is to trade Dirk. And the only reason Kobe wanted to come here is to play with dirk. So there was no chance in hell dallas was going to get Kobe.
