Its been a strange year. Brees would be my #1 if the saints were playing a little better. But I would go in this order

1.Adrian Peterson
2. Kurt Warner
3. Clinton Portis
4. Farve
5. Maybe Hanesworth

All depends on which team ends up doing the best I think.

05 GT, 07 Trailblazer SS, 04 Lightning

Since there is no such thing as a defensive mvp (bullshit), I suppose portis roy would be the recipient.

Sucks that Felix was out for so long. 4 weeks ago I was convinced he'd get rookie of the year.

Peterson
1015 yards 4.9 YPC 7 TD 15 Rec 98 Yards

Portis
995 yards 5.0 YPC 7 TD 18 Rec 150 yards

Looks pretty comparable except Portis has a good passing game to play with. If it came down to those two my vote would go for Peterson.

My comment held true prior to last week's games. I guess Portis being on bye last week, and Peterson's 192 yard game vs GB put him ahead slightly.

They are better with Romo, but the Boys have struggled a lot even with him in there over the last half of last year and this year. Their situation is magnified because they have no decent back up QB and the defense is not that great.

Look at Cassell in New England. Peeps said Brady was what kept that team going. Cassell stepped in and tehy are winning. Brady is far better than Romo and his team is winning without him. It just shows how bad teh boys really are on every other part of their team.......

True but you said it after the weekend and between that and the Ty Law article I thought you might be slipping and you know we can't have that.

Every other part? I'd say we have what is arguably the best RB combo in the league. I say arguably, because Johnson and White in Tennessee are a pretty stout combo as well.

And we've got what I think is the second best WR tandem in the league. Right behind Fitzgerald and Boldin in Arizona.

Yes, our defense is lacking. No big surprise there. But Defense isn't "every other part of the team".

All In know is that the team looks terrible as of late. If they have all the goods you think they do, they can make up for a hurt Romo, or at least have a better showing than what has been happening.

Sure TO is great at times, but he has shown nothing this year, even with Romo there. Barber is good, but he desperately needs Felix back there to mix it up. Roy Williams is still pretty much unproven in my eyes. And yes, minues the Tampa game the defense has been bad. No one is stepping up to fill the shoes of their hurt QB, good teams will do that. Like New England has........

LOL your "WR tandem" hasn't really proved shit in the few weeks that they've been a tandem.

Compareable, yes, but i'd vote Portis and here's why. The Skin's line isn't as good as Minnesota's. It's no Denver Bronco's o-line, but Chester Taylor and others have had no problems running behind it. When Dr. Portis Roy goes down, the Skins go down.

Jesus fucking Christ you people are dense.

Do you think that the Cowboys would have fared better with a QB that can manage the game, like other teams have rather than turn the ball over every time he touched it? Or one that can actually complete a fucking pass?

So is it supposed to be the most valuable player in the league, or is it supposed to be the player in the league who is the most valuable to their specific team?

Just curious what you think now. Roy didn't have a stellar night or anything, but got some solid crucial catches. Romo's back, and it's helping every other factor on offense. The O line, Barber, and all of the receivers.

Well now that the playoff's are here, things have changed a bit.

Peyton is looking like the MVP this season?
Then you have DeAngelo Williams with a fantastic season, Carolina doing good as well.

Rookie of the Year: Matt Ryan

MVP: Demarcus Ware (but since nobody ever gets selected from the defense for MVP, I think Michael Turner should be selected).

I wonder if that would be the first time that both the MVP and rookie of the year were selected from the same team?

I don't know why Peyton gets a nod. He did absolutely horrible in the first 1/3 of the season. Just because he's turned it around and being more Peyton like, he gets thrown into everyone's pick for MVP? He's not even putting up as good of numbers as his past few years.
