I'm not a Tech fan by any means, but they should be ranked #1. They crushed OSU last night and Bama just won by a field goal in OT. I thinks it's obvious Tech is a powerhouse and should get the recognition.

Penn State should have dropped lower than 7. Utah should be 5, or higher. And, as stated before, Tech should be 1.

Tech should #1, and UT #3. They've only lost to the #2 team, and in the last second.

What's up with Florida? They were beaten by Ole Miss (5-4)?

for some crazy reason every person that has to do with college football is having a hard time giving TECH the recognition they deserve. Kinda frustrating

BCS is not out yet. It's usually on par with the AP though. Bama and Tech should swap as should Florida and Texas. This should be the Top 5.

1. Tech
2. Bama
3. Texas
4. Florida
5. Oklahoma

Because I wanted to my top 5 to be Big 12, SEC, Big 12, SEC, Big 12. I'm sure it makes more sense then over half of the "voters" out there and the formulas the BCS computers use.

Your thread is titled "BCS Rankings" yet your post even says they're the AP rankings, which don't even factor into the BCS equation.

Lost to the #2 team by 6 points. I think Texas would play for the title. They have a better strength of schedule.

The rankings are stupid as are the pollsters. Tech deserves to be #1 with the thrashing they handed out last night. Bama lucked into another one. They are a good team, but it's sad that the #1 team in the country would be an underdog against teams #2-5 right now if they played. That shows they shouldn't be there. As for Florida, no way they should be higher than UT or OU right now. Florida lost to an unranked team at home. OU lost to UT that went on to be #1 in a close game, and UT lost to TT who should be #1 on the road on basically the last play of the game. How does that warrant you being ranked behind Florida? I think it should be like this:

1) Texas Tech
2) Alabama
3) Texas
4) Oklahoma
5) Florida

Anything else is just a crime.

I read that if OU beats Tech and 3 teams have one loss (TX, OU, Tech) then it comes down to BCS ranking to decide the big 12 south title and that team would play in the big 12 championship game.

I'm in Tampa so I don't get to hear/read the scoop that often... is that scenario correct? If so, that sucks even though I'm a TX fan.

doesn't matter they lost late, but if UT wins out and UF win out UF jumps UT when they beat bama in the sec title game. but the good news is if UT, OU, USC all win out USC will not jump either of them.

yes, and some of the "experts" think that favors Texas. I'm not really sure if it does.

It's going to be interesting in 3weeks when tech, ou and texas actually are in a three way tie. Good stuff.

It should favor Texas at least according to Cartman. Cause its a late lost for tech. And Texas beat OU and has a stronger schedule then OU.

if tech loses to ou they have to drop behind ou to number 5, moves texas to number 2 and uf to 3 and ou to 4. but that is if tech loses, and i have to say I believe they are as good as they have shown the last two weeks. to be honest if tech and UF played right now I don't know if UF would win, with the way tech has played. Ok ok I am lying UF would win but it would be close

south carolina, FLst and Bama game make up for that with all 3 in the top 25 bcs poll, and not to mention at the end of the season.

edit

also texas takes hit with the last two games they play in terms of SOS as well.

also texas takes hit with the last two games they play in terms of SOS as well.

remember this though, in the computer "minds" it's better to play the worst div.I team than to play the best div.II team. Trust me, it'll hurt 'em. Plus, after they beat SC, the gamecocks won't be in the top 25 anymore.

One thing helping texas is if Mizzou keeps on winning and gets back into the top 10.

As I said earlier. It's stupidity to put Florida and OU ahead of Texas. Texas beat OU and Florida lost to an unranked team at home. Texas lost on basically the last play of the game to the #2 team (who I think should be #1 after this weekend) on the road. There is no logical way someone can explain that to me.

the margin is narrow enough that if OU wins out im willing to bet that OU gets the Big 12 CG nod over UT or TT.

They had to take it to OT to win. TTU had a very decisive win over a very game OSU.

I agree with the polls.....It is in UT's best interest that Tech doesn't bump to #1. If they did and OU beats them then UT's chances at representing the South and playing for the Big 12 Title diminish. Even so....with TTU being at #2 I am not sure that OU still won't surpass UT in the BCS if they do in fact win out and take the South. We will see.....this should be interesting. Just hope UT doesn't take a big injury and lose to one of these piss-ant schools. Mizz. is looking like they will be representing the North.

Mizzoo has had a cake-walk to the Big 12 championship. They will get rolled by whoever shows up from the south-side of town.

Dude, it's not rocket science. Late losses ALWAYS hurt you worse than an early season loss. Are you rolling your eyes because you're saying he's wrong? Because he's not....

UT did not have a stronger schedule than OU. They played one more "difficult" team, which turned out to be a fluke team. That one game, isn't going to make that much of a difference, especially considering what a flop Mizzou turned out to be this year.

The way they've been playing this year, A&M would give them a run for their money.

I agree a late lost will hurt you. But when you lose to Ole Miss even at the beggining, that should hurt florida more the Texas losing to the #2 team late.
Mizzou well probably be in the top 12 at the end of the season. I dont think they are a fluke team just overrated some. Now if OSU lose to OU is OSU a fluke team? Cause they will have more loses then Mizzou.

Care to rethink that? OU played TCU out of conference (now with two losses and ranked 18th in the BCS. Cincy is ranked #22 in the BCS for their other "tough" game. They played the same conference teams except OU played Nebraska and K. State while UT played Mizzou (ranked #12 in the BCS) and Colorado. UT beat OU head to head. Here's a link to the Sagarin rankings. UT has the #8 schedule while OU has the #43. Put your blinders down and look at facts. Mizzou is better than you think. They lost to two teams from the Big 12 South, and that's it. They are not as good as the Big 12 South teams, but they are a good team.
