Exclamation Clubs for someone who's never played golf

Now that I'm in the AF, it's pretty much a requirement that I play golf. I've never swung a club in my life unless you count trying to get a green ball into a clown's mouth and the like. That said, what would be a good set of clubs for a complete beginner? I don't want total junk but I'd like to keep it as cheap as possible. I'd love to find a used set but living in Del Rio, I don't think there are too many golf shops here. I'm also a lefty which sucks for finding used clubs.

So any advice?

I'd stay away from the "tour-blades", and go with a cavity-back...they're a little more forgiving. Instead of 2,3, or 4 irons, go with a couple of the "hybrid" clubs. Much easier to hit than long irons.

I think I spent $300 or so on a basic set about 6 years ago from Golfsmith. Used them the day I bought them and haven't touched them since.

Go to your local sports store and go buy some Nike ignites for like 299. It comes with pitch through 3 hybrid. Very cheep and forgiving and if you can find them uese they will run about 150-200. If you think you will like golf then go get some used/new Callaway x 20s or Taylormade r7s. Nothing wrong with going with a decent set for your first one if you think you will stick with the sport. Good luck.

Your a fucking genius. Do your home work on steroids before you run your cock holster. There is no such thing as roid rage. Let me just take a wild stab in the dark, you know a guy that knew a guy who walked the dog of a guy who once read a book about steroids.

I bought a set like this off ebay about two years ago.

I play about six times a year and I'm hard on stuff. They have held up well.

you're right, I am a loser because I have never felt the need to use steroids to falsely become someone different than who I am. not to mention the fact that you denied denied denied, then deleted when called out on it.....go pop some back zits and work on your golf swing

What does steroids have to do with "falsely become different then who I am?" I am a guy who loves going to the gym. Same as the guy who uses pro hormones, protein, BCAA, or any supplements to get bigger, stronger , and better looking. As with your back zits comment like I said before you mental giant, try doing some research before you open your mouth, you dumb fuck.

I just started to play about 8 months ago and about 4 months in I bought some brand new Callaway x-20 irons. I love them. I hit them pretty well now.

I hope your talking to the Turd. I posted to help with your question. No funny digs at you or any other responses. Turd feels he has to enter into threads, and say shit that makes him feel better about the fact that he will never get bigger then 130 lbs. The funny thing about it is we all know that he would never pop off with his cum bucket of a mouth in person.

LOL @ all this.

I'm also a lefty and the clubs I use were a hand me down set from the only other left-handed guy I know who plays golf. Just remember that the bigger the store, the bigger their left-handed section will probably be. Finding used clubs might be tough too. Go to a place that has those swing cages (obviously don't go at 2 on a Saturday) and tell someone what you are looking for. It's their job to try and sell you clubs. Find which ones "feel" better when you make contact then go home and try to find them on eBay.

When you come home on leave we'll have to get an all lefty foursome together.

So says the guy who created a thread wondering why a more seasoned player was hitting further than him. You then went on to claim your strength was all natural until someone (I think Poopnut) posted a link to where you were talking about your PH/steroid use. You promptly deleted that thread.

And I'm not even going to begin to talk to you about how certain steroids can alter hormone profiles which can affect your behavior, because you're really not smart enough to understand it.

A-10s would be my first choice but they're pretty tough to get out of UPT right now. Any fighter/attack aircraft is hard to get right now due to squadrons closing, BRAC, UAVs, etc. Out of a class of 30 UPT studs, only 1-2 will get a fighter. What's been dropping the most lately are C-17s.

The next class to graduate (in a few weeks) will be the first class to actually have UAVs in the drop. So right now I'd be happy with anything with a cockpit.

I say go buy a cheap complete set of cavity backs at Walmart or Target and if you use them and decide you love golf you can go buy some nicer clubs after a year or more. If you have never really played you don't need a set of Nike's or Taylor Mades. You will be hitting the ground, hitting the balls all over the club face and will just destroy the first set you buy anyway, why pay a bunch for that learning set?

I used a cheap set like this for the first few years and learned how to play with them. Your grip and muscle discipline will affect your game more than a set of clubs will, especially while learning.

Costco had a nice set of Jack Nicklaus clubs, bag and something else for like $229 or something like that. Might not be a bad idea to try theirs, because if you don't like them they'll let you return them. The golf pro I talked to said they were a pretty good set for the money.

Costco will let you return the clubs after you use them? Wow. I know the PGA superstore has a 30 day policy. If you didnt like them you can return them for the full refund.
