T-New is now on my "Can't Cover List!" Moss made him look like a rookie.

He's not 100% yet, but his guy was open every last goddamn time. I said this in the other thread, but lucky for the Cowboys, J. Campbell didn't see him open half the time.

Personally, I think the politics behind it are bullshit. Who gives a fuck if he's the best corner we've got? If he can't cover, his ass needs to be riding pine. If T New was a true team player, he'd have told Campo "I just can't keep up coach, take me out." I guess his pride gets in the way as it will do from time to time.

Newman was getting burned all damn day. I know everyone else saw it, and he's fucked the rest of the season. All they have to do is throw long to Newman.

Until he proves me wrong he will stay on my list.

In 6 years he has only had 16 int's only one going for a td...

Asante Samuel 6 years 24 int's, 3 td's
Lito Sheppard 7 years 17 int's, 3 td's
Antonio Cromartie 3 years 12 int's, 2 td's

I would take any of the three over Newman...mainly because they are physical corners

Corners don't usually cover long...

...without help from a safety. For me, the jury is out on Newman until we get some help at safety. If you remember, the Dallas defense fell flat on its face when Darren Woodson left and we are seeing the same thing here. We build our defense around the strong safety playing a 'monster back' role and our corners are always out there on an island. Nobody, I mean NOBODY, can play shutdown corner on a great receiver without help. More often than not *NOBODY* was who was covering Moss, standing all by himself in a confused defensive scheme.

Primetime is a freak of nature, and was a corner who comes along once everyone 10 years.

I'll show your president the same respect you showed mine.

The rules also favored the defensive players a bit more then.

i think the coaching staff acknowledges a weakness in the safety's ability to pickup the long ball so we have our corners play 10 yards off the line always in a prevent. on any given play a team can throw 5-7 yard routes on us any time it wants.

we need to stop trying to protect the long ball as much and have our corners HIT the receivers. jamming the receivers at the line will give our D-line a better chance at the QB.

Based on the defensive call and the way the offense lines up, the corners know when they have safety help, so that's not really an excuse to look lost when covering one of the games best receivers. I can understand that some routes are hard to cover sometimes, like a double-move on a post or corner route, but for Newman to bite that hard and look lost on a stop and go with no safety help is crazy. I was sitting in front of the tv saying...."please tell me that the safety was supposed to help, but didn't"....maybe it was the safetys fault.
