Tom Brady out for the year?

Just heard on the radio (103.3 ESPN) that Tom Brady is out for the year with a torn ACL.

LOL. We were just making our picks during the Cowboys game and one of my roommates picked him after he knew he was injured. Sucks to be him.

That sucks. I know a lot of people hate him, probably because he makes the shit look so easy but he is one of the best QB's the game has seen.

I've seen guys walk off and later find out they had season ending ACL tears... I think you can walk on a torn ACL but can't make quick lateral movements... also the pain has to be pretty intense.

Someone check on Rob (yellowstang)! I haven't been able to get ahold of him and I'm worried about him doing something drastic, seeing as what a Brady fanatic he is!

You can still walk with a torn ACL, but there is no way to play 15 games and be effective with it. They are reporting that the Pats are bringing in Simms for a workout, so who knows really.

NFL.com is confirming that Brady is out for the year. Chris Simms is going to NE for a workout and a physical. KC and Tennesee have contact Simms as well.

Yes, you can, but lateral movement is what it affects. It stabilizes the knee from left to right. Almost every ACL tear includes an MCL tear also.

Sounds like Chris Simms is about to make a bit of money...who knew that 3 teams would lose their QBs in the opening week?

You do know that Brady will be back in time for the playoffs and a 9-7 Pat's team will take the Cowboys 37-13 in the Super Bowl, right?

That's assuming Simms or Cassel can carry them to the playoffs... I just don't see that happening.

EDIT: I recant my statement. I forgot those cheating cock suckers have the easiest schedule in the league this year.

In the best of scenario's, an ACL tear is a straight up motherfucker. 5 months re-hab, and some folks are never the same. If this is the case, he will be affected in some capacity from now on.

I'm just tired of everyone suckinf off the Patriots. Roger Goodell is the biggest fucking nutswinger of them all!

Get caught CHEATING? No biggie, I'll slap you on the wrist and take away only one of your two first round picks.

Go 16-0 in the regular season, and lose to Dumbface's Giants in the SB? No biggie, I'll give you the easiest schedule in the NFL next year, and make it easier for you to do it again.

Neither one of these guys are going to step in and fill Brady's shoes as easily as some think. In fact, I've already heard PLENTY of radio/tv personalities say they won't even make the playoffs this year. That was my initial thought, but I forgot all about Goodell handing them another 16-0 season on a silver platter this year.

I just picked up Matt Cassel (Pats backup) in one of my leagues. I'll have to wait for the move to clear waivers (Wednesday), but I've already got multiple interested parties looking to trade for him. I'm a happy camper.

Sure, New England won last year, 18 times. It was pretty impressive, actually. But you know what was more impressive? 14-6

I thought about picking up Cassel for trade bait, but he absolutely sucked in the preseason. Heard here first, The Pats do not make the playoff's.

BTW Coop, your boy Gerrard sucked yesterday. Cassel might be worth keeping for you.

No shit, and I've got him in two different leagues. He was a solid QB last year, went 18-3. I figured them adding talent at WR would help him out a lot this year, but apparently not. He was on quite a few people's sleeper list.
