Night Hunt for Pig

Its cooled off a bit and we have gotten some rain, so the son and I have decided to go on a night hunt for hogs. There is a full moon to help us to see. Wish us luck. Report in the morning.

Well, we heard shit all night, but saw nothing but a skunk. Come day break, we took another walk and just as we started, I looked up in a tree and look at what we saw. Turkeys. There were about 7 or 8, but a few flew off before the pic. We saw 6 deer as well.

We went again last night till about 12 midnight. We had 2 coyotes walk right up an us. One at about 20 yards and the other less than 10. The closest one stopped and just stared at us for a bit. I had a arrow notched, but I don't shoot them. A little later in the night, we had 2 hogs come out. IT was so dark that they looked alot further than I thought. We sat and watched them for about 15 minutes. I kept telling my son Chris that they will come down their trail, which is closer to us if we just sit still and wait. The damn thing ran to our side, and just as I was about to take him, he caught our down wind scent and hauled ass. What was really a bitch, is that where the hogs were for so long was only 30 yards from where we were at. I could hit George Washington off a quarter from that distance. It was just so dark out with the cloud cover that our eyes were playin tricks on us.

I should be outside makin hams, back straps etc.
