Softball Players Coed D in Rowlett

Anyone interested in playing Coed Softball in Rowlett? I need a few guys for a league in Rowlett. I am going to start calling the player pool on Monday but thought I would see if any dfwstangers wanted to play.

We start playing next weekend the 24th. Fees are $40 and that includes shirt and money to buy game balls.

D League

Sunday Nights - games are between 5 and 9PM.

I would play but I'll be out of town from the 23rd to the 1st. If you need anyone after those dates lets me know. I have a decent selection of ASA sticks and gloves.

if i remember right, D league is basically a "rec" league, right?

i forgot, is it 5M & 5F or 6M & 4F?

Correct about D league.

5M and 5F

We are trying to get 12 on the roster. We still need a couple more. If you know of anyone. I am going to start with the player pool on Monday. Also anyone on our coed team will be put down as subs on our men's team. Our Men's team has enough players right now, but you never know when someone might not show up for a game.

Would you be opposed to playing some outfield as well? I usually play left and need a good right center.

PM me your info and if you can meet up this weekend sometime to collect fees. I have to pay for both teams by Sunday.

Shit I would jump all over this but my work schedule will not let me. I have never played baseball or softball so this D league sounds perfect for me

Actually D League can be pretty competitive. Then again there is a big difference going from D to C. I played in a Men's D league and we got first place and then played on another Men's C league and we won one game due to fofeit. I have only been playing for a couple of years now and have gotten so much better. Just takes lots of practice like anything else.

I am a pretty good athlete I use to play alot of tennis so swinging a batt at a softball should not be a problem. I am not saying I can hit home runs just make good contact with the ball.

While hand-eye coordination is a key element.....that won't get you through softball these days. Stick to the batting cages.

If you haven't spent much time in the batting cages you'll soon find that hitting a softball and baseball are two totally different things. Yeah softballs are bigger but they're slower and they arc coming in, almost like constantly hitting a curveball or change-up in baseball.

Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel, "Pick up your shovel, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the Promised Land." Nearly 75 years ago, Roosevelt said,"Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a camel, this is the Promised Land." Now Obama has stolen your shovel..., taxed your asses, raised the price of camels and mortgaged the Promised Land!

Ok now I really want to try since I never played baseball that won't bother me. In tennis the balls have alot of spin so that's kind of like a curve hell when some people serve they can kick serve which moves the ball a lot. I really think I can do well again no home runs just decent line drives. It's been years since I played tennis but feel confident that with some practice swings I could pick it up. I wish you guys had some dfwstangs.net softball team that I could jump in on sometimes that would be great.

Oh I'm sure that you could do it, just letting you know it's not quite the same as hitting a baseball. It's the slow arching motion that really throws peoples timing off, just like a change-up or curveball would.

Not currently, I played baseball for nine years and had to quit after I tore my rotator cuff. I can get out to the batting cages now and then but usually not for any longer then an hour.

I might have one more spot. Pretty much outfield or switch up infield. We are meeting today at the fields at 2PM for a meet and greet and whatever else.
