Cowboys vs. Giants - The Troika

I hate this, the giants were the one team I didn't want the boys to have to play. It's almost impossible to beat a team three times in one year.

with the way eli has played today, it's looking to be the battle of the choketard quarterbacks unless Romo pulls his head out of Jessica Simpson's vag.

I'm no Eli fan, but based on his stats today, he's done pretty good:

Passing CP/AT YDS TD INT
E. Manning 20/27 185 2 0

He wasn't bad, stats speak for that, but he made some horrible fucking throws on a few 3rd downs that could have been key.

It's just a matter of busting Eli's ass as often as possible. Somebody will have to cover Burris every once in a while, too. It should be fun.

You make a good point.

But he can do that on his own time, after the game.

now that you say that, it sounds like a fair assessment. that or a 9-3 score.

(after the seattle loss last year.) i predict the boys win it in overtime or by field goal!!! they are better than the giants the offense avg s over 28 points.. dallas has a bad ass defense too.. hopefully garrett has a great strategy for the playoffs

If we can hold their pass rush, we can beat them. With TG and TO back healthy, along with our other offensive weapons they cant cover all of them. That and the secondary steps up.

x2

also the Bucs didn't get enough pressure on Eli IMO...but it all comes down to T.O. and how healthy he is..and how well our secondary covers. I believe our D-line can & will get to Eli.

On BTW....NFL Network said T.O. is a go for Sunday's game...get'cha popcorn ready!

I'm a little concerned but the boys should be fine. The giants are coming off with a strong victory and they are confident as they were able to go toe to toe with the pats but even though they have real good momentum coming into dallas, they can't forget that they have thrown their best shot at dallas twice and still came up short.. ...

ESPN also reported on TO. Phillips said he fully expects TO to play.

I'm calling Cowboys by 7, and here is why.

The Giants are coming off of two strong finishes, and Eli has played better than he has all year. I'm not going to say he's good though. Because as we all know, he's Eli and it's only a matter of time before he folds and fucks it all up. This weekend is as good a time as any. 20 of 25 and 185 yards passing is NOT going to beat Dallas. He's going to have to step it up big time, and I don't think he's got it in him. The Cowboys are the highest in the NFC in scoring with an average 28.4 ppg. To beat the Cowboys, the Giants are going to have to put up 30 or more points, and I just don't think they have it in them.

Troy was talking about how good they match up with Dallas, blah blah blah at the end of the TB- NY game. He pisses me the fuck off. He has to sound non biased, and he tries way too fucking hard. He must be forgetting that NY has given us all they've got twice this year, and couldn't walk away with a W.

I don't really care about football, so someone explain this to me...

Why, exactly, is it so impossible to beat a team 3 times in a season?
Everytime they play each team has a 50/50 shot at winning. It's like flipping a coin.

If the Cowboys have beaten them twice already, they have shown they are a better team... why bother with superstition?

It's not impossible. It's just very difficult. Think of it this way. Each time you play the same team, they are collecting more game tape. They learn what you do in certain situations. They watch repeatedly where you rush from, for a team with a strong defensive pass rush (like Dallas). They watch the routes the receivers run, etc. They watch for patterns, and prepare for those patterns.

Not superstition, really. And yes, the Cowboys are a better team. But, the fact remains that Dallas has fallen on it's face the last 4 weeks. NY has played really well the last two weeks. Point is, it's playoffs now and it's a whole new ballgame. The better team doesn't always win. It's all in who gets up for the game. And I have faith that the Cowboys will get up for this game.

i see the Cowboys regrouping and taking it to the Giants. Our defense is going to step up huge in this game! i know that this team is hungry for a playoff win b/c of what happened in last years playoff blunder.

If TO and Glenn are back I see Jason Witten having a great game as well.

I would much rather play NY than Washington. I'm glad things panned out the way they did this weekend. The Boys have the Giants' number, and with home field advantage, Dallas should take the win. Oh, and Eli is a fucking chump.

I think they probably have confidence in him (they better), as do plenty of people in sports media. And I know he's been playing better lately. I still just don't think he's got what it takes to get the job done.

That said, Mr. Romo has something to prove come Sunday, too. If he has a shitty game and we lose, following the last few performances, even I (Cowboys homer) will begin to wonder if he is worth that huge paycheck.

Now is the time, Tony!

I don't understand this tough to beat them 3 times in the same year...you beat them 2 times already...why would the third time be any different? Usually the better team wins the majority of the time...am I missing something?

All Dallas has to do is put pressure on Eli. He gets flustered and always seems to take huge losses while under duress. I expect Dallas to win this by a huge margin, if the real Tony Romo shows up.
