2008 College Pick'em: Against the Spread or Pick Winner

Last year we did against the spread.

Does anyone want to try just plain Pick the Winner?

The poll closes on Tuesday. I'll set up the league then.

Win is almost too easy in CFB. Against the spread atleast makes it somewhat challenging.

Picking the spread involves more guessing than picking the winner. Just because you can pick spreads well doesn't mean you are a college football expert, it means you are a good spread evaluator.

With as many upsets as there are during the season, having to pick the winner seems more logical to me than picking a team to only score so many points or be within a certain margin.

No, I just think its pretty ghey you can pick the loser of a game and still win just because the winning team didn't score 'x' amount of points.

Congrats, were good at picking spreads for one season. IIRC, you and others on here have stated 'fantasy' doesn't mean shit anyways. I guess that only applies in certain situations, right?

LOL I never said fantasy didn't mean shit but I did say it was simply a fun game type activity. It is fun to watch you get all pissy about something that is essentially meaningless to you though . Regardless of how you look at at, luck, skill or just fun, it was a competition and you lost

How am I pissy? I just think its stupid to pick a loser based on the other team not scoring 'x' amount of points.

I will say I had a down year last year in comparison to my two previous years on Yahoo! Pick'em. 2004 was 96th percentile, 2005 was 97th percentile, and 2006, was 78th percentile. There were alot of big upsets last year.

You really aren't very good at this it is more like can the winning team beat the underdog by x many points. Word of advice stay away from Vegas everything is about the spread

You can look at it from either way, but if you aren't betting on the favorite to win, then you are betting on a loser. Betting on a loser just doesn't seem right.

Vegas is about the spread, but you can also get head-up bets. The payouts aren't going to be anything near what a spread will be though.
