Are you serious?

It's much akin to doing batting practice before a game, except this is 12 hours before the game!!!

I expect this from Bonds, but not out of Griffey. Griffey was, and still is, the man. I'm just disappointed.

This further proves why Bonds is a fag.

Right. Look at Griffey's age. We should all feel sorry for him, even the opposing players. Maybe after 35, they can throw underhand to these guys.

Griffey did his time in the Home Run Derby anyway.

They should do like the NBA and only let young guys in the league compete to help increase popularity

I for one like Bonds, always have and always will. He has the sweetest swing in baseball period. He may have juiced at one point, but the man works out hard to stay in shape. If he is not testing positive right now or has not been for years, how is he still the same size?

I admit to knowing little about steriods, but what I do know is that the majority of people shrink a ton after steriod use stops. If he is testing clean for the past few years, how has he remained the same size and a lot of other players have shrunk noticeably???? AKA SAmmy Sosa and Pudge Rodriguez........

Toss up between Griffey and Palmeiro of the 90's when he hit for a higher average.

It's way differnt than Batting practice...in batting practice you try and get loose and work on things in a home run derby swings a full force after so many it does make the body wear down quick but as a MB ball player and maby play 3 to 5 innings in the all star game it is stupid for them not to hit for the fans

Yep, I was always impressed with how gentle and fluid Palmeiro's swing seemed, even when he knocked the crap out of the ball. Now I know why.

while staying on topic There are plenty of crappy 'sports', baseball is one of them.

FWIW, I don't expect many people from Texas to understand/like hockey, it's fine. I've given up on campaining for it, if you don't get it by now, you never will.

Hockey is harder then any other sport. Try skating and then getting hit by a linebacker and not crumbling, then you'll know what it feels like.

Good ol' Nolan! I love that pic but, my ex-wife hates it (she's from Chicago and likes Ventura) which is why I mention it to her as often as I can.

What's really sad is, I used to follow Griffey's career when I was younger, hell I didn't even know he was still playing baseball !

Oh and I hate Bonds. I wish he'd have a career ending injury or something before he breaks the record.

Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner.

Bonds is old and is still having to take days off to rest up to make it through the entire season. Griffey is just a freak accident waiting to happen. Wise move by both. Unlike the HR Derby, the game actually does have meaning behind it now.
