Padres expected to reward Young
Four-year deal with club option for 2011 on tap for right-hander

SAN DIEGO -- On Monday, Padres starting pitcher Chris Young gave the Padres seven scoreless innings in a 1-0 victory over the San Francisco Giants at PETCO Park.
On Tuesday, the Padres are expected to give the 6-foot-10 right-hander a four-year contract with a club option for the 2011 season, according to multiple sources.
A press conference has been scheduled for 10:30 a.m. PT at PETCO Park, according to a team spokesman.
Young, who turns 29 on May 25, is 1-0 in two starts this season with a 2.13 ERA. Last season, Young won 11 games, led the National League with a 2.41 road ERA and led the Major Leagues in holding opponents to a .206 average.
