to compare heath herring and shogun is fucking ridiculous.

Shogun is the reigning Pride Middleweight Grand Prix Champion and future Pride MW champ. Some people have him as the #1 205 lber in the world..
He has owned pretty much everyone he fought.

Herring's best fights were a few years ago. He is not even top 10 anymore......

Shogun is no doubt a bad ass but I prefer watching him in Japan where he can utilize his soccer kicks. He would definitely be a much needed addition to the 205 division in the UFC.

I just call it like I see it. The things that help him excel in the ring won't necessarily help in the UFC ring. Take the bite from a dog and he's worthless.

I doubt the ice man will be worried about him...imo he hasn't fought a good a striker as the ice man. He has deadly kick/knees but standing up fighting is where the ice man is at his best. One punch is all it takes to put you out with chuck...

MMA math does not translate...just stop posting ok. Chuck has not fought a good striker like Shogun since Rampage either.

BWAHAHA Alistair was working over Chuck until he gassed out.. I just posted that fight in the pic/video forum.. Chuck landed a few punches at the end to finish him, but other than that it wasnt anything special. Hegot dropped in the first couple of minutes and went for the takedown...

I understand that most people who watch UFC now think Chuck is some kind of god.. The only person that he beat that was respectable was Randy. The other guys he beat were nowhere near the caliber of fighters they have in Pride..

Pride has had the better fighters for the past few years. Most of you guys haven't even seen fights outside of the UFC. Therefore your opinions are biased towards Chuck. MMA is blowing up and we are getting ready to see some spectacular fights.. I will say this now so you can copy it later. CHUCK wont be champ for long. Mark my words.....

that's the fight game... all it takes is one mistake and the fights over.
Chuck has been on a roll lately. It's about to come to an end. He is getting older (38 yrs old) and doesnt stay in great shape like Randy. I definitely dont see Chuck fighting when he is 43 unlike Randy.
I would say 3-4 fights left in him before he retires.

but couldn't you say that about ANY fighter in their late 30's? That's not really going out on a limb by saying that, you know.

and in chuck's last 5 fights or so, i've heard the same thing from most of you. "this is chucks time, he'll get beat this time around" i mean, it'll happen sooner or later but according to some "experts" on this site, it should've happened a long time ago. just sayin.

when I see people post shit like Chuck will beat CC and Fedor, it makes me want to puke.

Dont get me wrong, Chuck is good but there are better fighters out there at 205. If this rumor of UFC buying Pride is true then alot of the tuf noobs will see that soon enough

I pick against Chuck because i dont really like him.

Hell, most UFC fighters can't fight a good pride fighter for conditioning alone, considering the first round alone is 10 minutes. And for those saying Shogun is only good on the ground, he beat Rampage standing in the corner.Jackson hits hard and there were several punches Shogun absorbed on the way in to the clinch. That's the kind of guy who can beat a striker, even standing. UFC is really not representative of all MMA in the world, because they are bringing select people from around the world. For Spike and UFC, it's still about the money, not only true promotion of the sport. There are peole all over the country that have been involved in MMA, full contact, judo, ju jistsu, (whatever you like) since they were 5 or 6 years old. Unlike alot of UFC fighters who have been in it 5 or 6 years. Kinda like someone calling Mauricio Shogun a "No Namer"!!

I'm not a huge chuck fan but i wouldnt count him out,ive seen him get dropped a few times but he recovers quickly.I saw a really early fight of his vale tudo i think it even w as on this sight.Chuck has got better but he will def have his hands full. Some one i think whos really pumped up is Jackson. The guy is funny and hes got some slams but other than that im not all that impressed*as far as top 205'ers go*

Get me as much info as possible and I'll get the word out for sure. What's the schedule going to look like as far as training. My buddy wants to come and his wife was interested if Eric is going to do Cardio and she could meet with Drixel about dietician what kind of rates Nick would give them etc.

and 4.6 Love...please come roll with us...it will be fun...and yes according to me I know more than you. Come bring 5 of your friends like you did to try and beat up Beej 2 years ago at a GTG then walk off like a little bitch after he tried to shake your hand.

I never have my friends fight my fights for me. Beej never once tried to shake my hand, but that's not here nor there. Are you suggesting that we fight over a disagreement of ufc/pride fighters?

haha LIGHT strikes while rolling can be fun,and mma geared bjj is alot diff than just rolling.ITs kinda weird had BJJ has alot of strikes and pioneered mma and alot of subs could use some "softening" techniques that you cant use when you roll.lol now it some what deviated from that just to subs etc

I just wish it wasn't so expensive to go watch this stuff. My wife was going to get tickets to UFC in houston for my anniversary, until she found out what tickets, hotel, and a weekend sitter were gonna cost. Hell even some fights this weekend in shreveport are 30 bucks a ticket, to go watch amatuers.

Shit... you can get hurt on the ground just as easily, if not easier than a toe-to-toe strikefest.

I'd rather get hit in the face than have a joint rearranged.

You really need to work on your reading comprehension, and apply that towards researching 'sarcasm.'

It's newbie mentality Denny. He means he will train with anyone in BJJ. Newbies tend to get complacent in training to where they feel so safe they can't get hurt there. It's also when someone does get hurt. But everyone has to learn one way or another.

As skittish and nervous he is, I am surprised to see him say he will roll with anyone though. It's good though he's open to it, that is if he means it.
