They will not be in the play in game. One ESPN analyst has a bracket with them in it.
3 conferences have lower total RPI's.

That's the guy I was talking about. He is the only person to project them into the PI game. Before NT won the SBC title, the jackass had Ark.ST. in as the SBC champ & a 15 seed.

Fox Sports has the Mean Green at #15 while CBS Sports has them as a #16.

Memphis is good when they're hot. They'll shoot 3's on you all day long if you give them looks. SMU almost beat them at our last game this year so it's possible to take them down, but NTSU is probably going to get killed by at least 30

Almost winning doesn't mean a damn thing. I thought you SMUt grads would at least know that.

I'll be the first to admit our teams suck...except for soccer. I believe all the optimist called it a moral victory, lol. Maybe we'll get to a bowl game next year in football. Suppose to have two guys coming in from Oak Hill next year, Papa Dia and some other kid. Also have Kwiatkowski (7'1") commited. Doh is getting us back, slowly, but still better than what Dement(ed) and Tubbs could ever do.

Would you prefer NTTC instead of NTSU?

Memphis is going to be tuff but lose by 30 I don't think so. NT is pretty quick on the court and Memphis is not a "2" team. They will be out after the second round

Ummm....yea, I think they will lose by 30+. You guys are in the Sun-Belt conference which speaks for itself. I don't think a team from your conference has made it past the 1st round in years. Last year S. Alabama when down by 26 to Florida who won it all. Have they even played any decent teams this year? Seems like most of the games were all close (5 points or less) against subpar teams.

Going up against a Top 5 team at the peak of their season....30 points sounds generous. Hope they bring the KY with them...

Just check your schedule buddy:

North Texas --> vs Tulsa, W - 65-63
vs Rice, W - 71-69

SMU --> vs Tulsa, L x 2, 66-70, 60-67
vs Rice, L x2, 60-63, 66-75

UNT's got some quickness to them, I'm not holding out any serious hopes for UNT. But they do have an athletic enough team to run for it, hell look at was Easter Kentucky was doing to UNC even if it was for about 5 minutes
Alot of people underestimate the mid-majors and don't have time to salvage the second half after they figure it out.

Hell look at VCU, even though they were playing a pretty new Duke team, they pretty much dominated the entire game.

I watch all the CUSA games and go to the tournaments. Watching Memphis play and talking with a few of the players, Memphis is gonna hang some points and they'll do it early. Maybe NTSU can keep up, but the Sun Belt isn't exactly one of those surprising mid-majors.

Those games, Rica and Tulsa, aren't exactly good indicators when you put them on SMU. For three of those games, maybe 4, we had 3 of our starters out (Epps, Fall, and Roberts). Those guys were averaging 9, 7, and 8 ppg respectively. Factor that in and we should have won all of those easily.

For as bad as UNT is doing on the boards they're staying competitive. I don't think Memphis was prepared ot have to run the ENTIRE game, although they are capable of it

Like I said the shock of UNT's game has worn off and Memphis is starting to play thier ball. It'll be interesting to see how UNT comes out int he 2nd half, that'll decide if they hav ea chance or not.

North Texas was running around like crazy during the first half. I'm surprised they had that kind of stamina in them. Started looking real tired in the last 2 minutes though. Too bad Douglas-Roberts got 3 fouls early on, could have been a bigger lead going in at half-time

Not really thats UNT's game style they run and hustle. They're not the biggest talent even in the sunbelt they just work for it. I think u just don't like UNT, so you can take your haterade and walk away. Because noone expect UNT to seriously win, butthey
re playing their hearts out and I garuntee Memphis will respect them ALOT more after this game. Its just oom bad UNT is a junior/senior led team so there won't be this chemistry next year

Not that I have a hatred for UNT, but they don't have a good team. They lucked out in their conference tournament and made it in. They don't have the ability to last the whole game. They ran like crazy for 15 minutes and it started to show during the last 5. Now it's just getting ugly. They were able to hang with Memphis for longer than I thought they would, but Memphis has a damn good team.

I thought it was a good game. They definitely should've been seeded higher. I've got Memphis in the Final Four in all of my brackets. I hope they make it.
