Why the WWE is a waste

Yeah, like Trump's guy is going to lose. Anyone want to put money on it?

Trump's hair on the line at Wrestlemania

Mon Feb 19, 11:18 PM ET

Will Donald Trump put his hair where his mouth is?

Trump and World Wrestling Entertainment owner Vince McMahon will pick a wrestler to represent them in the ring April 1 at Wrestlemania 23 at Detroit's Ford Field, The Detroit News reported last week.

If their pick is beaten in the "Battle of the Billionaires," the loser will get his head shaved after the match, the Detroit Free Press reported Monday.

WWE spokesman Gary Davis said the date of the event had prompted speculation that it was a hoax. But it's not an April Fool's Day joke, he said.

"If Trump loses, he shaves his head," he said.

The announcement of the match was made on a WWE television program that aired over the weekend.

its ok if you like watching roided up men rolling around on top of each other.

At least with daytime soap operas there are hot chicks.

Sure man. It's okay if you like to watch ghey male dramas where overly muscular guys wrestle each other in matches that have pre-deterimined outcomes, bad acting, etc.

You should probably get use to it. It is a legitimate sport and is growing quite rapidly in popularity. BTW, UFC is not a sport.

It was WWF back then though. Cro-Cop has a good left kick, but it is no match for "The big boot" coming from the Hulkster.

Nice reduction. I guess UFC is WWF with a different shaped ring.

I hope this UFC fad dies quickly. It seems out of no where, 50% of the population is a UFC expert. So when is Randy Savage fighting Razor Ramon?

So how long before UFC hires Golddust or Double J Jeff Jarret?

Am I ignorant? Probably. But it amazes me that I haven't seen one UFC thread up until maybe a year ago then all of a sudden everyone's pants are going crazy over this sport, organization, whatever. It's a fad. Everyone's jumping on the bandwagon because it's cool to stand at a urinal and say "Hey, you see that Chuck Liddell fight last night? Dude is a beast."

You comparing the 2 of them is pretty gay IMO. One is real (UFC), one is a male soap opera (WWF). How in the hell are you comparing the 2??

You might want to do a search on the UFC threads. I have been posting them here for years... I have also been watching UFC since 1993..

It just so happens they get on cable tv and it BLOWS the fuck up. Unfortunately you get a bunch of "tuf noobs" that dont know jack shit. But hey, you have to take the bad with the good.

BTW, there were more people watching the Live fights on spike the same night as one of the world series games. Sounds like a fad to me.

So Boxing is on the same level as WWE too?

Because it is a "combat sport"???

Mixed Martial Arts has definately blown up over the last 5 years, because it has become more mainstream, and is now officially regulated by State Athletic Commissions. They have rules to follow, to protect the combatants. It's as much of a sport as baseball, basketball, football, rugby, boxing, fencing, swimming, etc...

For those of you who don't understand what the difference between professional wrestling and mixed martial arts, I seriously feel sorry for you ignorance.

My friends are UFC bandwagoners like most of you, so I watched the last fight at their house. Talk about an over-rated "sport".

But to say it's closer to boxing than wrestling, makes me laugh. Joe Rogan doing post-fight interviews in the ring, in which fighter points to other fighter sitting ringside next to his porn star GF saying he wants a piece of him next. Replace Joe Rogan with Jerry "The King" Lauler and you have the WWF. Not to mention the reality show, the trash associated with the sport, the fan base, the Octagon Girls, etc. Yep, no relation to wrestling at all.

HAHAHA

Right, because they don't do post ring interviews in boxing, and the winner of the fight never calls out his next opponent for a title shot? Boxers don't date models, actresses, or even GASP porn stars. Boxers don't have managers who are flashy, like Don King? no...

Your comments make no sense. MMA as a whole has been gaining mainstream acceptance, yes. Are there a lot of uninformed people out there spouting off about things they don't know about? sure. But look in this forum and read any of Nate (SVTvenom's) football posts. Just like any sport there are morons who follow it, and talk like they know what's going on.

MMA is ten times the sport Boxing is. There is more skill involved now, with the striking, grappling, wrestling, etc.

My original point was this is just a sport, event, whatever that is collecting bandwagon fans by the day. You have your beloved Mavs making a run for a title, the biggest sports franchise ever making off-season moves, pitchers and catchers reporting, the Stars in the play-off hunt, yet all I see if UFC threads.

Like I said, it's just a fad that will hopefully die soon. Just like wrestling when I was in middle school, soon many will grow tired of it and just move on. When MMA becomes an Olympic sport, like boxing, then maybe I'll consider it legitimate. Until then, it's WWF with a different sized ring.

Your logic is shit in that case because there are a lot of so called legitimate sports that take place during the Olympics that are fucking useless.

Ice dancing, curling, handball, and badminton come to mind.

but also, boxing, Taekwondo, wrestling, and judo are all "sports"

yet, a "mixed" variety of these is not? MMA is exactly that, all aspect of Martial Arts, not one single study. Striking arts, such as boxing, kung fu, jeet kune do, karate, kenpo, etc.. Grappling arts, such as wrestling, judo, jiu jitsu, akido, etc...

So if a few of these are accepted as sports, a combination isn't?

No, you said it was closer to boxing than WWF. Boxing is a highly sanctioned, Olympic sport. I didn't say all Olympic sports are real sports. I'm just saying UFC is closer to WWF than WBO.

How so? UFC is highly sanctioned as well. The Nevada State Athletic Commission, the same one that sanctions boxing, sanctions UFC events in Nevada.

WWF is scripted, WWF is entertainment with a sports theme, WWF is a male soap opera.

UFC is not scipted, UFC is sanctioned, UFC is a company who hosts MMA events, MMA is as much a sport as boxing, if not more so.

I dont know man, Chuck Lidel could have easily owned Tito in the first 30 - 45 seconds, it really looked like he was just giving the fans their money worth.

Ok, let's say Chuck went in, overly zealous, and made a mistake, and Tito capitalized on it?

The key in any fight is feeling out your opponent. It took him time to learn Tito's responses to his gameplan. Once he figured that out, he went in for the kill.

Danny, usually you are a pretty well informed sports fan but shut the fuck up. There are a lot of bandwagon TUF noobs but there are a lot of people that have liked MMA for more than a "year" as you say. I've only been watching/following since mid 2003 but it's a lot of fun to watch and learn about. It's more of a sport that has more of a clear cut winner with less influence from the Ref's than your dear spurs playing a game with the swaying of influence (read Ref's) in NBA games.
