Manning wasn't MVP

This has me kind of pissed off. Im sorry, but Manning was not the MVP of the Superbowl. Now Im not saying he played badly, but the MVP honors are for the player with the biggest stand-out contribution of THAT game. Not the entire season. Just because this was Peyton's game to "get the monkey off his back". Does not mean he was the MVP. Dominic Rhodes was the most valuable player of the game and should have been given the MVP award. Peyton recieved the award because the media turned this into Peyton Manning day, and not because he was the most deserving player on the field. Hell, imo even Bob Sanders was a better candidate for the MVP.

Dominic Rhodes= 21 rushes, 113 yds. 1 TD (splitting time with Addai)
Bob Sanders= Int, Forced Fumble, great coverage all game
Peyton Manning= 25-38, 247 yds, 1 TD, 1 Int.

I gegree, I didn't think he had a MVP game last night.

I've always thought that as important the title of Super Bowl MVP is to a players legacy, they sometimes make that decision too soon. They should announce it a little later after all considerations are made.

I thought Rhodes played great....but were talking over 200 yards, no fumbles like Rexy and it was in the rain. Over 200 yards in that rain was nice effort.

I agree it was gonna be Payton as long as they won but he did do some good stuff to give him reason to be deserving.

QB is the most vital position in the game. He is the leader and commander of the field. If he leads his team to victory, it is almost always a MVP vote for them......

That's called NFL football man.

200 yds isnt that big of a deal for a QB, thats even a low average for Peyton (off the top of my head, may be wrong) I agree he should have been a candidate, but should not have won.

Ya'll do have good points though

Stats wise he didnt have a great game, but look how many times he passed them out of 3rd and long situations and he called every play of the game at the line of scrimmage recognizing the defense and knowing when to call a pass or run. I think there are a ton of things that Manning does every game that arent recognized because they arent things that show up in the stats. I think he deserved it
