Phoenix Suns, 3 losses in a row?

I don't think it's possible, but the fun begins tonight. Phoenix lost at Minnesota the other night and they play the Spurs tonight and the Jazz on Saturday night. And I don't think Denver is all that great, but being able to run and gun with AI and Melo, there's another decent chance at a loss. They play the Nuggets on Monday. Hell yeah I'm scoreboard watching!

GO MAVS!!!!!

14-3 now with 4:44 left. Can't believe the Suns only have 3 points in nearly 8 minutes.

Phoenix made their run to close the gap a little. At the end of the 1st period, the Spurs lead 22-16.

So I guess the Suns' two winning streaks of 15 games this year means they aren't that good.

He's right though. Spurs are super unreliable this year. They have had amazing games and had amazingly shitty games. I don't doubt for a second that the 'on' Spurs could handle the Suns, but we're yet to see who's going to show up and stay the duration of the game tonight.

Bitter much? Nothing against the Spurs, but they haven't done much other than lose games recently. I'm sorry that the truth hurts you. Like them or not, it's the truth.

I could bring up the fact that no, they're not that good. Because they aren't. There isn't a team in the NBA that will stop the Mavs in a seven game series this year. But I didn't do that.

No matter what way you slice it, they've been losing games. Period, end of story. Don't get so butt hurt over it.

EDIT: Additionally, that was my first post in this thread. So, what the fuck are you talking about when you posted "Good cop-out"?

I wouldn't say the Spurs are overrated but they have been playing like crap as of late. Sad to say but I'm rooting for the Spurs tonight (the lesser of two evils).

3rd Q pretty much belonged to the Suns...until the end. Suns took the lead and went up by 9, but in the closing moments, the Spurs cut the lead back down and the Suns only lead by 2 going to the 4th quarter.

Now WTF kind of foul was that? Manu fouls Nash (who wasn't shooting, Barbosa was) and now Nash is heading to the free throw line. How's that work out?

Looks like the Suns are gonna take it. Right after my last post, they went on a nice run and have opened up a 95-86 lead with just 1:38 to go. Thanks a lot SA

Seems to be the story of the year for the Spurs. Great opening game, decent mid game maintenance...blow it at the end. Likely an indicator of the Spurs' age. Got some great players, but doesn't seem like all of them can hack it for a full game.

The same problem the Mavs seemed to have last year. In a way, I'm glad they made it to the Finals, and failed. Now they've been there, they've tasted it, and they want it more. Not to mention, the seasoned champs we added in the offseason.

I'll be the first to admit the Spurs will more than likely lose in the 1st round of the playoffs. This team is just pathetic. Maybe Spurs fans are spoiled, but even though they have the 3rd best record in the league, they're playing .500 ball right now. Rant on.

1. They have no fucking drive anymore. No hustle. No heart. They got beat in Utah by a bunch of nobodies because those nobodies out-hustled them. Those nobodies were on the floor going for loose balls while the Spurs stood around and watched.

2. This team gives up WAY too many offensive rebounds. It's like everyone fucking stands around expecting Tim to get every board. Omberto is playing nothing like he was at the begining of the year and should be religated to towel waving duty. Fransico Elson is the second coming of Nazi Mohammed without the offensive skills (think about that for a second). This team needs help in the paint and the spares that supposedly play center on this team aren't doing it. Just get an f'n board every once in a while.

3. Where's the O? When Tim Duncan is on the bench, the offense looks slightly better than most WNBA squads. You can't dump it down low, you can't give it to Bruce, Beno, Horry, or Finley. Manu and Tony basically have to play 2-man while the sun shines on Brent Berry's ass once a game. They need someone that can come off the bench and light a fire under some asses.

4. They're the oldest team in the league. The bench can rival that of most corporate softball teams. For the love of God, stop drafting Euros and get some brotha that has some game. I don't want a 31 year old shooting guard from Lithuania, I want a 21 year old with a criminal record from Chicago. I want someone that can actually hustle AND provide some spark off the bench. The Suns are loaded with these types and we're relying on Michael f'n Finley.

I can't think of one playoff caliber team I'd see the Spurs beating in a 7-game series. They obviously can't beat Dallas, Phoenix, Utah, or Houston. They barely beat the Lakers. The new Nuggets would probably run all over them. The problem is the Spurs front office is too scared to make a move. If it takes getting rid of Ginobili, then do it!

I need a beer.

Yea, they are just an old team in a young conference. They had a good run, but that is all over. Maybe they will make a trade to get younger. I don't care who you are though this post above is funny...

Being a Mavs fan, I find this statement rather funny. When Fin first went to the Spurs, I was a little worried, but after seeing him there the last couple years, he looks like the same old Fin we saw the last year or two in Dallas. He's not much more than a decent 7th or 8th man off the bench.

I was pumped when the Spurs landed Fin. But he's shown a whole lot of nothing. His productivity has gone down this year along with most of the rest of the "shooters" on this team. Another liability is Bruce Bowen. Sure, he's great on the defensive end, but how many other players in the league averaging over 30 minutes have an average of barely under 7 points per game?

Suns are hosting Utah tonight and early in the 3rd period, Utah leads 58-49. Hopefully Utah can do a better 2nd half job than the Slurs.

Utah pulled it out. Phoenix made a game of it in the 4th and actually took the lead on a couple of occasions, but Utah ended up winning 108-105!
