Adrian Peterson's Heisman hopes are gone

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2625553

Peterson broke his collarbone in the game against Iowa St. today.

Thats too bad because he was having a pretty good year.

I told you OU fans that the high # of carries he would get this year would lead to an injury.

Why was he in there with 6x left in the game and an 18 point lead?

and injury prone....he is a good back, but his durability is suspect, that might hurt his NFL draft stock a bit.

He still leads the nation in rushing by at least 300 yards. He's still in Heisman contention and will probably have a chance at the Doak Walker if he can at least keep up some decent #'s.

Please be quiet, you are embarrasing the other Aggies on the board. Last week you lacked enough Aggie pride to stand behind their 5-1 record, this week you are talking crap about one of the best RB in college Football. Anyone who says Peterson is over rated doesn't pay much attention to stats. He has 752 rushing yards, 8 TD's in just 6 games. He had a 1900 rushing yard/ 15 TD season in 2004 and an 1100 yard rushing / 14 TD season last year with injuries.

You don't even need stats to see how good he is. You just watch him run through everything and break all kinds of tackles.

I support his not cheering over a KU victory. Ags played well at the end, but at times they were getting worked which even the Ags should not have let happen. Anywho, I strongly disagree that AP is overrated...he's a great player no matter who you cheer for.

that will hurt texas more than anybody esle

it sucks that flordia lost which will help texas but if arkansas wins out and flordia wins out auburn might leapfrog back over texas. but I still think michagan will win it all this year.

Arkansas still has to play LSU and Tenn and possibly in the SEC Champ. Florida still has to play Georgia (not as big now) and FSU (sucks) and probably in the SEC Champ. There's no way Auburn will leapfrog UT as long as UT wins out, considering their only loss was to the #1 team.

after seeing the rankings you want to rethink that. the sec is such a tough conference that one loss isn't all that bad.

Seeing as how you have Vandy beating up on your supposed "strong" SEC teams, you might want to re-think on that.

Winning the Big XII will vault them over several teams, even if the others have good remaining seasons.

Again, both of those teams have worse losses and WVU doesn't play anyone other than Louisville.

Nope. I said if they winout, I didn't say now. I could care less about the standings now. The season is half-way over. If Texas wins out, they will be ahead of any SEC team unless one of the 1-loss SEC teams wins out, which I don't think will happen.
