MLB Playoffs, who are you pulling for?

A few intriguing possible matchups in the World Series. Mets-Yanks would of course be a network's dream come true but I'm hoping the Yanks are buried in the Division series. Dodgers-A's would be a rematch of the '88 series which is one of the best in recent history. Yanks-Dodgers would put two classic organizations against each other, not to mention East vs. West coast.

Personally, I'm pulling for the Twins since they're the Little Engine That Could every year but always seem to fall short. I'd like to see Twins-Mets so we could have big market vs. little market. I love seeing big games in Shea and the Metrodome, both have good loud fans. Some decent potential this year as a whole.

anybody who beats the Yankees is who i am pulling for. Personally i think I would like the Twins to win to help honor the memory of Kirby Puckette. I would have been pulling for the Astros if they would have made the postseason.

But as long as those assclowns in the Bronx dont win, I will be good with whoever wins it all.

I want to see the Twins against the Padres. The Twins because I HATE Bud Selig and he wanted to put them into contraction, like a spit in his face you know. The Padres because I'd like to see Chris Young get a series ring.

They finished one game back from Minnesota and had a better record than the A's, I'd hardly call that limping in. They are 1-1 and off to Detroit for two games. I think they'll end the Yankee's season

He's talking about how they finished off the season. Nobody mentioned their overall record.

It's easy to write them off when they have their #1 starter and another important starter go down with serious injuries.

Now Ill just setle for detroit beating the yankees after that i dont care

But Im not really worried

Quote:
BRISTOL, CT—Even though the National League somehow managed to send four teams into the 2006 MLB postseason, baseball experts said Monday that it is "unlikely" that any of them will advance past the second round of the playoffs. "The Mets, Dodgers, Padres, and Cardinals have serious pitching issues, almost zero offense, and have played terribly down the stretch," ESPN analyst Buster Olney said. "However, they each luckily drew a first-round opponent that is similarly ill-fitted for postseason play, so we may see one or two emerge from the first round. But as for the World Series—not a chance." Experts went on to predict that it will "probably be another Yankees–Red Sox World Series this year

Wait....are we talking about the Mets? Does anyone really have to argue that Pedro is their best pitcher? I don't think that needs proof.

And like I said before, pedro wasn't around for 80% of the time. The mets got to the post season w/o pedro and they were the best team in the majors w/o him. Maybe you're missing my point. I'm not saying he isn't their best pitcher, however he wasn't around and the mets pretty much dominated all year w/o him so it's not that big of a deal he's not in the post season.

I wonder if there is a stat for how many times any NL team has gone deep into the playoffs or how many times the World Series has consisted of the Red Sox and the Yankees. El_Camino, can you dig some of those up?!

I'm betting that the first answer is somewhere along the lines of "A lot" and the second answer is closer to "Not so many."

I'm going to bet 99.99% of the time 100% of the time a NL team goes deep into the playoffs....and about 0% of the time..it's 100% of the time it's not the Red Sox & the yankees in the WS.

Other than suggestive opinion...I'd like for you to show how...specially since the outcome of the yanks/tigers series leans to my defense in ways unimaginable.

The laws of baseball physics stand in your defense, bub. There's more to not having a Red Sox/Yankees World Series than just the fact that neither team is still in the playoffs. You're taking these "experts" and their "expert opinions" out of context; that's why you sound like an ignorant moron...

Exactly how am I taking their opinions out of context? These so called "experts" base all their opinions on age old stats and subjective intangibles such as(ERA's/RBI's/win loss records etc.) to pull remarks like the one stated in the beginning out of their asses, and so many of the fans today are willing to eat it all up. I'm not sounding like an ignorant moron for stating the obvious, you're just a little to anxious to call someone that on an unknown basis.
