ND over-ranked yet again

The state of Michigan is having a field day with ND. Last week they got blown out by Michigan 47-21 at home. They are currently losing 31-14 at halftime to Michigan St.

Weis for Coach Of The Year!!!!!!!!!!! Quinn for the Heisman!!!!!!!!!!

Any questions Denny!?

The only reason ND comes back to win this game 40-37 is Michigan St. tried to sit on their lead and self-destructed.

<------ Not impressed by that comeback against an unranked opponent.

ND is just not as good as people keep hyping them up to be. State should have put them away after the half, but kept letting it slip away. I'll give credit that ND did a good comeback job and kept with the game the whole way through, but for a team that is supposed to be a title contender... you shouldn't be able to argue that thier record could just as easily be 1-3

You're not impressed by that comeback?!?! You're the only one then. I'm not thrilled they got walked on. Hell, I had them written off by 1/2 time. I'm totally impressed by the comeback, just not happy they had to do all that just to win.

They did it against an un-ranked team they should have blown out. That isn't impressive and the voters spoke in the USA Today Poll with ND losing votes and a spot.

I recall UT falling behind last year to an unraked opponent Venom. As a matter of fact UT went into the half, down 28-12 to OKlahoma State and then had a come back in the 2nd half. So I would say that ND being down by 17 going into halftime in 2006 is not much different than 2005 UT being down by 16 going into the half against an unranked OSU? I guess you could argue the 1 point issue or the fact that UT came out in the third where as ND took until the 4th but a W is a W in the win column.

Eh, I wasn't impressed. Besides, it's not really a comeback when their QB keeps throwing the ball to the defense. That's more of a "gimme." I mean, look at how the game was sealed... on yet another shitty throw by the MSU QB.

didn't texas do that 2 times last year? OK st and A&M ? can't remember if aggies were up in the second half or not. but I didn't see the game but from the highlights I saw they did a bad ass job of coming back when 95% of the teams would have quit. I don't care for ND never have, but I would have loved to see that game knowing what I know now.

Difference between UT/OSU and ND/MSU is that msu was DOMINATING the entire game until midway through the 3rd when their center got hurt and didn't return. THEN the luck of the irish started rolling in.

OSU never was donimating UT during that game, even the osu fans AT the game knew that LOL

Does that answer your questin PT?? Even though i'm not Venom

Funny, because the way you talk about last year's UT-A&M game, A&M had about 200 moral victories even though UT got the W, yet you somehow overlook that.

I think the bigger picture is the trend ND looking like this early in the year from a 'title contender'

The comeback was impressive. A win is a win. The most points at the final whistle is the winner. No doubts about any of that...

But

GT was a very hard fought win that was one play away from being a L
Michigan was over by halftime
M State was an impressive comeback aided by the complete meltdown of the State offense in the 4th.

they have a 3-1 record that is extremely suspect and could just as easily be 1-3. I totally feel that there are games throughout the year that are tests that people will point at and scream 'over-rated' that are fairly unjust. You simply can't be 100% for every minute of every game throughout the year. Every team will struggle at some point in the year. I do however think that the ND 'tough game' factor is slowly wearing off by thier fairly lackluster performaces. I don't believe there's any way they go through the rest of the year without another or maybe two L's.

Well I don't recall UT being very dominant when they went into half time down by 16 points but hey if this makes you feel better then okay. I do agree the outcome of the UT game was much better than the Irish outcome but a win is a win.

Yep, a win is a win. And you can't tell me that the second half of that game UT did not dominate the game. Because how many points did OSU score in the second half??

I didn't say anything bad about UT's second half in that game last season, try reading what I wrote LOL. I was just pointing out to Venom that UT had it's moments last year when things looked bad for a minute. Now I admit ND is much worse off this season but even you must admit going into half time down by 16 or 17 against an unranked team no matter who you are when you are ranked is not good.

Funny... you have their year so far recapped EXCEPT the Penn State game. I see why, though. It doesn't coincide with the point you're trying to make.

No, you can throw it in there if you want. Its the only game that they have really come out strong. I wasn't really surprised that Penn got beat as they did because they don't have anywhere near the offensive production that ND has.

Aside from the fact I left out thier only convincing win do you not agree that they have looked poor through the first quarter of the season??

24-7 is a pretty good whipping when you are supposedly the #2 team in the country.

And Venom-once again you go spouting off before the game was over and well...how'd it work out for ya. Fucking moron is all you are.

I agree. It's also still really early in the season. Also nobody has really hit thier tough conf. schedule yet. Alot of separtation left between contenders.

I would personally put ND, FSU, Miami in my top 3 of disapointing starts to the season from teams initially held as contenders for a BCS/Title game bid.
