Official Upset/Excuses/Shit Talking/ETC Thread for NCAA Football on 9/16/2006

Ok, so:

ND gets blown out by Michigan.

OU loses on a questionable onside kick call.

Texas rolls over Rice.

Clemson upsets Florida State.

TCU holds TT to a FG.

Louisville blows Miami out.

Yadda yadda yadda.

- ND/Michigan:

I told you mofo's that ND would lose this game. ND's secondary got TORCHED by Chad Henne and his WR's. ND actually played a good 'D' and Brady Quinn looked VERY, VERY mediocre.

- OU/Oregon:

Yes, that was a questionable call on the onside kick, but OU had plenty of chances to stop Oregon all day long and couldn't do it. Dennis Dixon lit up OU's weak secondary. Even with Peterson getting 34 carries and going over 200 yards rushing, he only found the end-zone 1 time.

- Texas/Rice:

Nothing out of the ordinary in that game.

- Clemson/Florida State:

Looks like the younger Bowden is ready to succeed the elder Bowden. Florida State's front 4 looked great in their first game against Miami, but didn't look so good in their last game and in this one.

- TCU/TT:

WOW! I'm impressed by TCU's 'D' and holding TT to only 3 points. That is definately something to hang your hat on.

- Louisville/Miami:

I didn't get to see this game on TV, but I honestly thought Miami would have put up more of a fight than that. I guess they really are overrated.

*EDIT* I just saw that Brian Brohm is out 4-6 weeks with a dislocated thumb. Without Brohm or Bush, they are done.

Comments? Excuses? Lets hear 'em.

FSU is my team....but they have been so damn streaky in the past few years. One week they will blow out a team and play awesome, then the next barely get by a chump team, case in point last week vs. troy. I dont know what to say about them. My second team is N.D. , and they did get their asses handed to em today by michigan. I dont know what to say but it was a bad day for my teams.

So when Bobby Bowden decides to retire from Florida State...does Bowden Jr. leave Clemson to pick up where his dad left off?

NCAA in general has been effected by this new Timing system.

Gary Thorne said something during the A&M game that caused me to start looking back the last two weeks to notice that the new system gives the underdog a HUGE advantage.

It's more about the team that's behind regardless of upset potential. Entire minutes can be lost for a team trying to make a last effort drive.

This new system now rewards any team that holds the lead throughout the game and especially with only a few minutes to go.

Well if the rules stay the way they are then the teams will need to learn better clock management. I can say after this weekend TCU showed us just how important a good Defense can be, once again reminding us of the philosophy defense Wins Championships. I think the new rule could end up being a good thing, it could be Frantastic
