I'm excited about football, but we're only a month away from Mavs 1st preseason game

On Oct 10, we open up at NO/OKC. I probably won't listen (won't be on TV), but I wasn't ready for BB season to end the way it did. Just ready to catch some action again.

Then we get it started the right way...Nov 2 against S.A. It's only right that the best teams in the Western Conference (and by far the best playoff series last year) kick off opening night against each other.

Apparently you're the only once excited for basketball...the second worst sport in existence. True story.

I hate basketball, but I will say that Amare Stoudamire (sp?) is one of the most talented athletes in professional sports.

Amare > Dirk

Most likely this opinion developed because you lack the ability to play said game, LOL. By the way how tall are you?

Or, I think basketball players are pussies (i.e. Wade) and lack class, therefore making the sport suck.

I have plenty of speed and athletic ability, I just hate basketball.

I'm 5'11"...but that has nothing to do with anything...I can touch the rim.

LOL so you think T.O. falls into the lack of character for the NFL, what about John Rocker for MLB, etc. etc., all sprts have their respective ass clowns. I don't care for baseball unless there are some big home run hitters involved but I don't think the game sucks. I'm 5'11", 210 and can touch the rim but I suck at basketball and still really enjoy the game both watching and playing.

As a whole, I feel basketball is equal to baseball in terms of being boring to watch and follow. John Rocker is white trash and TO is TO, but for the most part, football and hockey are as blue collar as sports can get. That can be argued, but it's my opinion. Sorry for hijacking the thread Marc.

i think they have a good shot to be back in the finals again, losing marquis pissed me off, but out of the players they let go, we got better talent in return and i think from the additional players and they experience of what happened last year the teams attitude will be stronger and they will play alot better this season. Cant wait for the season to start up again.....

Let me be the first to say this season...... GO MAVS! I can't wait for basketball season to start again!

I love college football, but the NFL bores me. There is no true loyality in the NFL except to money.

what's worse? i hate seeing it start up, too! what makes basketball worse is that over the top hype that happens in March! It's definitely gives me March madness having to be constantly baraged with that crap!
but to each there own. SX and MX are the sport of choice here. Hockey may eventually work it's way back on my list of things to watch, and maybe even get back to playing. Injuries and Holdouts made it less interesting to me.

F THE NBA

I can't believe you fools keep falling for the fake sport. Even the fucking players for other teams thought that the finals were rigged by the Refs.

Quit buying into this. Be a FAN and get pissed that they won't let the players PLAY!!!

Baseball is worse. I would rather watch curling than basketball or baseball. Hockey is the best sport EVER.

Right... if anything, it'll make a fan support their team more.

As die hard of a Mavs fan as I am Marc, I'm all football right now. College football that is. NFL football is only moderately interesting.

With that said, I know once the Mavs season starts I will be in basketball mode again. My father-in-law got season tickets again so we'll be at most the games, including the opener against the Dirty Sanchez, er, I mean Spurs.
