Why the Mavs lost

I like seeing people blame Stern and the refs. Dallas was up 2-0 and a chance to make it 3-0, but they let it slip away. The reason the Mavs lost is they choked. Like they do every year. Dirk is not a leader, Dallas will never win a championship with him here. He let the team down just like he did last year in the playoffs. When your team leader is weak minded, you dont have much of a championship chance.

Thank you so much for that brilliant insight! So all the Mavs need to do next year is get rid of Dirk.

Dirk is WEAK! He went 0-4 in the forth of game 6. Doesnt look like any leader I have ever watched play the game. Basicly he didnt show up for the last four games of this series, and the mavs lose four straight.

yes Danny...

We drop our entire line up for guys like Rasheed Wallace, Ron Artest, Dennis Rodman again, Kenyon Martin, Raja Bell, and Jermaine O’Neal.

We thug it up next year, bling bling, flagarent fouls, ejections, even baggier clothes, gats... the works...

We fuck the NBA up ghetto style!!!

Dirk shot bad the past few games, along with the rest of the team when they really needed it... Last night they play great 'D' but didn't show up on the offensive side. Look how close the past two games where and look at their shooting precentages. If they had just played to their average the finals would be over with the trophey in the mavs hands. Granted the heat played good 'D' throughout but there were way too many "good looks" missed.

Is Dirk a leader...absolutely! Everyone seems to be forgeting that without dirk's performance in the spurs and suns series we wouldn't even had made it to the finals. Every player goes into shooting slumps, Remember Finley it just so happens this was a bad time to fall into one. Its the bad thing about being a star in the NBA, you drop down to ordinary performance levels for a few games and you are now the scapegoat.

The thing the Mavs have going for them is they're an exceptionally talented and young team that has yet to mature to their full potential. They will be back next year, probally better and stronger. This year just gave them insight to their weaknesses and provided them with valuable experience.

We will be the champs soon enough, this year just wasn't our time!

Wow, so they just played Greggo (from the ticket) asking Wade last night if the Publishing of the Parade route for a Dallas Championship after game two made a difference. Wade said it was Bulletin Board Material and along with another article that said "Miami: Unworthy Opponents" were the two things that inspired them early on.

Looks like there might be more to this than just Dirk's alleged inability to lead.

the Mavs lost because Pat Riley>Avery Johnson

in a game of adjustments and stategy, Riley owned the Mavs, plain and simple. It took a few games for Riley to realize that the Mavericks can actually contain Shaq and make him less of a factor. Change strategy and win 4 in a row. Riley is a bad ass fucking coach, end of story.

the Mavs being unable to stop Dwayne Wade had a little bit to do with it too.

That might have played some small role in the matter.

It couldn't be because Wade had 36 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, four steals and three blocks.

Or because Riley is one of the greatest coaches of all time and has taken the Lakers to the NBA Finals in the '80s, the Knicks in the '90s, and the Heat in the '00s.

Nope, no way.

Face it, we were outclassed. Maybe the Mavericks will grow up next year and play like it.

I think Miami wore down the mavericks. We started taking more jump shots and fewer drives to the basket. Hopefully we pick up a decent free agent. I can see us letting a couple of the mavs go. At the top is Van horn. Dampier is not to far behind considering how much he cost.
