Is this a fair trade?

I have Marvin Harrison on my Yahoo! Football Fantasy Team and I'm trying to trade for Peyton Manning to get the matching yardage/TD points between the two.

I'm offering:

Drew Bledsoe: 167 points last season

Chicago 'D': 200 points last season

367 total points

for

Peyton Manning: 212 points last season

Tampa Bay 'D': 153 points last season

365 total points

That is pretty fair, isn't it?

I thought so. He's got Jason Whitten too so he'd get matching points by getting Bledsoe.

I'm also going to try and work another trade. What about this:

Drew Brees 175 points last season

Dallas 'D' 129 points last season

304 total points

for

Tiki Barber 175 points last season

Philly 'D' 111 points last season

286 total points

The guy on that trade has Joe Horn so I'm hoping I can sell him on the matching points with Brees/Horn and having a bit better 'D' with Dallas. His team name is Cowboys 06 so I'm sure he'll like getting the Cowboys 'D'.

Hell no that's not fair. Peyton was one of the top scorers last year in FF. He's guaranteed to get his 30 TD's and 4000 yards. Chicago's defense isn't guaranteed to do shit and Bledsoe definitely isnt', even with T.O. Anyone that knows anything about FF wouldn't make this trade, sorry.

Let me add, matching points isn't necessarily a good thing, especially in leagues where you have a small bench. That means when one team has a bye, you have two or more empty positions that you either have to leave empty and take the hit, or try to release and find a temporary replacement.

Hell no, thats lopsided heavily in your favor. You can't look at it from total points. The bottom line is, Peyton is a top 3 pick, while Bledsoe is a 3rd rounder, maybe a 2nd rounder at best, while the Chicago Defense a 7th or 8th round pick at best, and thats barring the defenses go early.

Manning will have more pressure on him with Edgerrin James gone. James is probably the best pass blocking RB in the league. Manning had his best winning season yet and still didn't reach your "30 TD/4000 yard" mark.

Bledsoe will post better #'s than last year with T.O. taking pressure off of Glenn and Whitten.

If anything, Chicago's 'D' will get even better with their '06 Draft additions.

How can you not look at it from a total points perspective? Thats what the player did and that is what they are worth.

Manning is ranked #5 overall by Yahoo. Bledsoe is #15 overall.

Tampa Bay is ranked #147 overall by Yahoo. Chicago is #107.

Well give him that explaination and hope the idiot buys it. Like Hollywood said, I wouldn't give up a top 3 pick for anything unless it involved a 1st and 2nd rounder minimum.

Yahoo's preseason rankings mean jack shit. I remember when they had Charles Rogers as a top 30 pick.

Those aren't the projected rankings, those are the actual rankings after the drafts have occured.

You wanted people's opinion, I gave you mine. Try to convince him it's fair, not me.

Defense is always a crap shoot in fantasy leagues. Sure there are a couple of teams that always have a strong defense but there are also usually a bunch of teams that go undrafted. Fact is though even the best defense in the league will have off games and can cost you points, Peyton Manning though unless he gets hurt is worth 7-14 points every game and had several 30 pointers last season. With him and a good kicker you can win a lot of weeks and not need any more players.

I drafted Bledsoe as a backup behind Palmer this year. He is a really good QB but like was mentioned not a 1st round pick, Manning is.

No fast cars though

Just completed my first trade of the pre-season.

I traded:

- Antonio Bryant, WR, 49'ers
- Dallas 'D'

for

- Joe Horn, WR, Saints
- Philly 'D'

I definately got the better end of this trade because I have Drew Brees and will get matching yardage/TD points.
