1. Horn by submission
2. Gonzaga by KO
3. Lister by submission
4. Fisher
5. Guillard
6. Riggs by brutal GnP
7. Diego Sanchez by decision
8. Vera (the guy is a brown belt in BJJ so I think he will be fine standing or on the ground)
9. Matt via judges decision. I think this may be a pretty boring fight. Wouldn't mind seeing Matt get tapped though.

This has nothing to do with the thread, but I didnt want to make a new one. I ordered Total Elimination 2005 Pride and watched the full interview w/Kevin Randleman. What a dumbass is all I can say. They interviewed him and asked what he thought of "Nakamura" calling him out and he said, "Nobody asks for me, nobody!" like he's some kind of champion. He's had his ass beat by damn near everyone and he has the balls to say "Noone asks for me"

I haven't really followed up on that Shogun guy, but he seems like an all around good fighter. He whipped up on Q.Jackson pretty good.

I don't thing Diesel will have a chance for any GnP. I don't see the fight going past the 1st round. But who knows Riggs has a punchers chance in it for sure.

I am really suprised to see him win this fight. I expected Riggs to manhandle him w/his strength and GnP. Good for Swick as he will be contending for Rich's 185lb belt later this year at this rate.

Well, I admit it, I was wrong.

Hughes completely dominated Gracie. No way to even attempt to make any exuses, Hughes is the man.

He very well may have a serious injury to that arm. No Gracie has or ever will tap out in MMA. They would prefer serious injury over the shame of tapping.

I thought for sure it was over after Hughes got the arm bar. He tweaked it as hard as he could and Royce never tapped out.

It wasn't an arm bar, it was a Kimora. Gracie's arm is fine. Hughes couldn't crank on it anymore because they were on the mat. Royce was relaxed the whole time. He was resting while Hughes was wasting his energy trying to get a Kimora that would've never caused Gracie to tapout.

It was an armbar from sidecontrol. Don't aruge stuff you don't know. The three basic subs from sidecontrol on the arm are armbar (which is what Matt had), Kimura (twisting the arm back etc not straight) and the keylock.

Gracie DOES NOT suck. He was the best there was in his day. He's just out matched now with the younger, quicker, stronger fighters. IMO, there are a few fighters in the UFC now that could beat Gracie...Hughes isn't the only one.

I am not sure of what you are saying. From what I saw Gracie would get beat by tons of UFC fighters.

He's outmatched because he hasn't evolved into a well rounded fighter. You have to do all things well, you cannot rely on a single style anymore.

Look at Ace...doesn't do any one thing great, does all things well and is dominant in the middleweight class right now.

Horn - Wish they would have shown this fight
Gonzaga - bad pick, he was so gassed
Lister - Typical good old Dean Lister
Fisher - That knee was just plain dirty
Guillard - just didn't like Melvin, so I called this one against him
Vera - very impressed with him this time around
Swick - Exactly what I expected from Swick
Diego - Even tho Alessio kept Diego at bay, and actually did more damage, I can't see how that was unanimous in favor of Diego, split maybe, draw maybe, but not unanimous... BS
Hughes - exactly as I expected, but not that quick

I was 5-4

I think Royce (Like the announcers said) was not burning too much energy in the 1st round, but had to find out the hard way that Matt Hughes is for real. I'm taking nothing away from Matt Hughes, he came in, did his job and my hats off to him. If and this is a big if, they do fight again, Royce better use a lot more energy and strategy up front instead of letting himself get put in that position again. He very well might be done though.

As far as Matt Hughes being the "F_ckin man" yeah, he's the man right now, but St.Pierre will dethrown him as soon as they step back into the octagon again.

And Mike Swick doesnt have a chance against Rich right now. Just like Nate Q. thought. Swick aint ready for Franklin yet.

If Royce tries to step back into the ring with Matt, it ends in the first round again with Matt as the victor.

And everyone has been saying for a while that *insert #1 contender here* is going to dethrone Matt. I've heard that once about GSP, twice about Trigg, Sherk and even a few times about Riggs...but the only person to hand Matt a defeat in the last 5 years is BJ Penn's win over him.

Rush (St. Pierre) is my favorite, and I really like Matt too. I want to see this fight but don't know who to cheer for? If anyone has a chance to take the title away, its Rush.

You're right, Matt Hughes deserves to be champion, he's beat just about everyone there is to beat. I've said it before, I'm taking nothing away from him, he beat Gracie fair and square.

BJ penn and GSP are about the only ones who've ever given Matt Hughes a challenge and he lost to 1 of them. Trigg was a joke, after kneeing Matt (Which wasnt right) he still couldnt finish Matt, not because Matt was too good, but because Trigg didnt know how. Had that had been GSP or BJ Penn it would have ended, but I'm not getting into a "If this" or "If that" debate because it's pointless. S.Sherk wasnt a challenge either, and Diesel was too afraid to throw punches, which landed him in the position he was in.

I'm just saying who I "think" will win once they get into the ocatagon for the 2nd time. Noone knows for sure, so only time will tell. Matt wouldnt be such a bad guy if he wasnt so damn cocky.

Not too bad...7 out of 9 right. I only picked Gracie because I wanted him to win, I wasn't actually convinced he would be able to pull it out tho.

Looking forward to UFC 61, the two main events should be sweet.
