Babe Ruth vs Barry Bonds

Forget about steroids (Bonds) and booze (Ruth), both were illegal and used by the players during their careers.

My question is, who would win in a no holds barred street brawl?

lol, this has to be one of the funniest polls Ive seen in a while.

Have you seen Babe Ruths figure? He'd get winded so fast it wouldnt be funny. Besides Barry is pretty stout.

I should add that each would be at the peak of the career and set in modern day times. Ruth would have killed pre-roid Barry and in the 1920s Bonds would have been lynched if he came near Ruth.

Well I was under the assumption that you were talking about a 1 on 1 fight. Just because Ruth could swing a bat, doesnt mean he can bang. As far as conditioning and stamina, Ruth would have gotten slaughtered.

It's funny cause wouldn't most people say that Bonds' peak age is 40 years old.

Is this pre-roid Bonds, or current? Because they look completely different. Plus I think the Babe could throw his weight around pretty well back in the day.

There are no steroids in baseball. Just players Chuck Norris has breathed on.

I bet Ruth had a Tommy gun.

Babe, all the way. You guys forget that he was a pitcher and had stamina, and he trotted the basepaths frequently... he wouldn't get winded. Guys back then were tougher than they are now, besides, use your common sense. "The Babe" couldn't beat his ass (see below)

I never forgot he was a pitcher and a damned fine one at that. If he would have played his entire career as a batter though he would have easily had 800+ home runs. Take his first 4 years with Boston, he only played every 4th game. If he hit his yearly average for those years he would have had 882 career home runs. I'm counting his last seaon with the Braves where he really stunk it up as well.

Then again Babe never had to hit against Nolan Ryan, Randy Johnson, Pedro or Roger Clemens. Not sure he'd do so hot today against some of the flame throwers we have. There were hard throwers back then but you didn't see entire pitching staffs with 95 mph fast balls

lol, the Babe trotted so he wouldnt get winded. I cant name 1 single baseball player EVER that ran full stride after knocking one out of the park.

Barry bonds atheleticism is by far superior to Babe Ruths. The man had a gut on him that weighed as much as Barry Bonds does.

I dont even know why we're comparing apples to oranges.

In a fight Ruth would win, Bonds cries to much publicly.
