Sporting News Football 2006 top 10

http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn...ic.php?t=52343

Quote:
1. Ohio State. Beat Texas in Austin and the rest of the ride is cake.

2. Auburn. If QB Brandon Cox develops significantly, Aubie could duplicate 2004.

3. West Virginia. Let's see the Mountaineers play big with everyone watching.

4. USC. New QB, new RBs, revamped O-line; yeah, like it matters.

5. Oklahoma. You'd better believe those four losses burn inside ultracompetitive coach Bob Stoops.

6. Notre Dame. The schedule is brutal, and the defense is desperate for speed in the secondary.

7. Virginia Tech. Coach Frank Beamer must rein in the Hokies' freewheeling personalities.

8. Florida. At what point will Gators fans clamor for freshman QB Tim Tebow?

9. California. Fullback-turned-quarterback Steve Levy and other stud skill players are putting it all together.

10. Texas. The Horns are loaded but have zero experience at the most important position.

Heisman watch

QB Troy Smith, Ohio State. Let's see, a breakout performance in a BCS game to set up the following season. Sounds (and plays) a lot like some dude named Vince.

RB Adrian Peterson, Oklahoma. If he's healthy, he could reach 2,000 yards. He's that good, and the Big 12 -- other than Texas -- will be that bad.

QB Brady Quinn, Notre Dame. He has the numbers, the ND publicity machine and the All-American looks.

QB Pat White, West Virginia. And to think Alabama and Auburn wanted the Daphne, Ala., native to play wide receiver or defensive back.

RB Marshawn Lynch, California. He's a fast, powerful back primed for a big season -- and to grab attention away from the USC Heisman factory.
LSU would be my choice at #1......
Auburn #2..
OSU #3 or 4...(they have only 2 guys returning on Defense)

Bump USC out and put LSU at #4

Bump Texas up to #7

Flip Notre Dame and West Virginia.

i was thinking the same thing.

so, why does it not matter that usc has to reload when 3 major players leave but 1 major player leaves for texas and they get shunned for it?? It's not like Booty has all the experience at qb either? eh, it'll all settle itself out in the end anyways.

UT= the Rodney Dangerfield of college football, no respect. LOL, and i LOVE IT!!

They're all East Coast/West Coast Media Biased, that and Texans are nothing but cow tippin' hicks.

USC lost their defense last off season, and they're losing their offense this off season. Texas is losing their one player that got them a MNC, But the total Team is good enough to compete (I've said it before). Of course, depending on the ou/tu game, Texas could be #5, and OU #7 if they beat OU next year.
