LenDale White vs Reggie Bush

I was reading that LenDale will go in the draft this year. Who do you think will have a better NFL career? LenDale or Reggie?

My vote LenDale: My reason is LenDale is a bigger back and more of a through the Tackles type RB. Has more power in his step and drive.

Here's a vote from ESPN.com

He did have a much better game in the National Championship than Reggie Bush, but that's the only game I ever sawed him in.

My son pointed out White to me early in the season. He said from the get go that White was better than Bush in his opinion. He's been having better games all year. They were just quiet good games. I know Bush won the trophy and all is is a great college back. But if you look at White's stats, we all know he had more touchdowns, but also his yards on fewer carries were decently close to Bush's.
I think it was Bush's highlight runs that made him such a media star. His break-a-way runs sure were fun to watch. I read where White said he always wondered what type of career he would have had if he didnt share the backfield. Thats an interesting " what if " .
I agree White is a better NFL style runner.

True, NFL coaches will droll over Lendale Because of his size and he can be an old school RB who can bulldoze his way through Holes..

Reggie Bush will be like a Westbrook but better(thats not a bad thing..but might wont be an every down back )

Well some of the best backs around aren't huge there bubba, Tiki Barber is only 5'10" 200 lbs and rushed for over 1800 yards this season, Warrick Dunn is only 5'9" 180 lbs and rushed for over 1400 yards this past season. These are two essentially small tail backs by NFL standards.

Now look at this, this past season at USC behind the same o-line, Reggie Bush 6' and 200 lbs rushed 200 times for 1740 yards, LenDale White 6'2" 235 rushed 197 times for 1302 yards. I think you can yards to touches shows Bush made more average yards 8.7 to 6.6 according to ESPN. No telling how either will do at the next level but I would guess that Bush will be better in the NFL. Also you have to take into consideration where they end up and what kind of line they end up behind.

Bush also only had 16 rushing touchdowns to White's 24. You're not going to find a statistic for this, but I think White was used a lot more in situations and plays designed for only a few yards, especially around the goal line. That could certainly explain his 50% more touchdowns with fewer yards and yards per carry.

After seeing Bush quit during the championship game, I'm beginning to wonder about him altogether. I'll bet some coaches are, too.

rushing stat wise Bush and White are equal. Bush has like 10 yards more than White in both their careers at USC. But I think both have the opportunity to do fine in the NFL depending on the team they are on and how their respective team builds around them and developes them.

But they are two different style runners...one more flash and the other more north and south runner.
