F*cking stupid and any woman that gets turned onto that is just looking for a good screw (which ain't a bad thing ), but there ain't anyway in hell i'm going to ride a bull, i'd rather shoot the bastard and be done with it.

I agree and like my Grandpa told me years ago.......

2 things will eventually happen to you as a bullrider...

1 is bad and the other is worse........

?

Its not half as bad as you make it sound or think. I never competed in any major rodeos or nothing. But I did it for a few years until i got to big to be any good at it. Never got seriously hurt ( dont know if I was more lucky than good ) or anything worse than a few bruises and getting the air knocked out of me. Its the same as any sport and has its few risks...... I still know a few guys that do it on a regular basis and think some of you guys that ride wheelies on the highway are insane. LOL
My dad was a bit more unlucky than me. He is in his sixties now and still has a scar on his cheek from when he got gored by one when he was in his twenties. I was lucky enough to not have been scarred bad. Just a few smallish ones that hide really well.

Stangcrazy......... I agree. It was stupid. But it was still a blast.

I think its stupid. My cousin does bull riding- he fell off and got his knee stepped on ( had to have a knee replacement) and had his pecker stomped on. After he healed from that, he went straight back to riding.

A friend of mine rides broncs. Some of the stories he's told me, and seeing the scar on his arm from where they screwed his shit back together, made me realize that you'd need a screw or two loose in your head to volunteer to do that.

Bullriders think you are stupidier
(note: for newbs, yes, that is correct spelling on DFWStangs).

I rode a few bulls when I was younger. Didn't do it to:
1. Impress the chicks - my girlfriend for most of my bullriding time hated it. In fact never saw me ride.
2. To show off - many times it was only other bullriders. Hard to "show off" to someone who has done it.
3. Fame/money - many times I paid them to ride and there wasn't any purse.
4. Extremely brave - any bullrider that tells you he isn't scared shitless each and everytime is lying.
5. Fucking crazy - I'll buy that.

Obviously I cannot explain the "whys" to anyone that thinks it's stupid. You just don't have the correct mindset. I can tell you that the feeling of sitting on top the bull with your hand tied to its back is unlike any other feeling in the world. At some point it becomes like heroin, the feeling is addicting.

Nothing like being at the arena when its 60 degrees outside and you are cold as hell and when you climb up on the bull you immediately start sweating your ass off. It's the longest 8 seconds you'll ever experience.

Worst accident was when a bull who generally broke to the right out of the chute decided to throw a changeup and break left. My ass still acted like he was going to break right. I went under the bull and my hand got locked in the rope.

The bull stepped on my chest which immediately freed up my hand.

It's pretty fucking fun! A total adrenaline rush. If you've never tried, you need to. Go to a place called "Bull Palace" in De Soto. They'll get you on a bull that's not too far out of your league. Anyone can get on one there, just sign the waiver
