Vick for the day

"8-22 passing for 91 yds, 2 ints.

16 rushes for 13 yds, 4 lost fumbles

This was possibly the biggest game in Va Tech history other than the MNC game against Florida State a few years ago. Miami was the only team worth a damn on their whole schedule, and if the Hokies won, they could have had a shot at a MNC.

This performance by Vick was the worst meltdown I have ever witnessed, even worse than the Big XII Championship in 2001. If ESPN wasn't hyping Vick so much, and if he wasn't a punk criminal, I might feel sorry for him."

We don't need to compare and contrast with VY, do we?

you do know that the number 1 d was playing last nite. what is the best d vy has faced? but texas still need alabama to lose or it could be looking from the outside. but I will root for a bama texas game this year. I think that would be the best game. but if they all lose one game I don't see anybody being up there past miami. if it wasn't for one bad game at the start of the season we would all be talking about how miami is the team to beat.

Alabama is lucky to still be where they are at... and will be a distant 3rd for the rest of the way out...

Texas and USC is all but locked if they both win out.

I thought everyone was claiming VT had the best D in the NCAA? What happened to that last night? Texas' most challenging D to face was at Ohio State. Are you implying that their Defense isn't any good??? Let's hope not. They might have stumbled against other teams, but watch that UT game, they were ready to hit.

Why would that happen when Miami has already lost a game? They are both over rated. I do agree with hookem Vick is just a punk criminal

Miami is actually rated the No. 1 Defense in the NCAA. It is unfortunate that they lost to FSU in the 1st game of the season, but how many other teams have to open the season against a historically rated "powerhouse" Like FSU and vice versa?

I'm the biggest Hurricane Fan there is, but I would much rather see UT win the title over USC...

Your own "other" team did, brutha.....UT became the only team to have an undefeated record at night time, in "The Shoe" this year. Yea, they played LA-La or some such before that, but the tSU game was obviously the real opener/.

not bitter, they are letting the freshman qb play now, they are trying to get him ready for next year. but I knew they would be bad this year. they lost 20 starters the last 2 yrs. but they will be back if not next year then the year after.

but bama now has one of the hardest schedule. and they are 3 and 4 in the human polls, should be a solid three but alas one poll is jumping on the canes back.

now here is something for you to ponder, what happens if everybody loses one game. not likely, but will you bitch and moan when usc and miami play for the title?

very good question. One could only hope (as a Longhorn fan) that the human voters would still rank UT in the top 2. They would hopefully see that UT only struggled once with an unranked opponent before handing them their asses, then the next week came out and MURDERED a ranked opponent 62-0. That coupled with the fact that USC has struggled with a couple unranked teams and such, hopefully Texas could jump them to hopefully be #1, or #2 if Miami jumped both teams. Very good question... let's discuss this further. What are YOUR opinions Cartman?

if it wasn't the FIRST game, it wasn' t the season opener.

But like I said, if my canes can't win the title, i hope UT does.

Can't have both either Vick blew or Miami D was great, which is it? Did the D step up and shut Vick down or did he play poorly and make them look great? Just a question I understand if it goes over your head.

So if VT is over rated and now we have come to the conclusion that Miami is over rated then the entire system must be flawed which means? You guessed it tu is over rated also, I mean if your going to look like crap in the first half of any game of the year pick a team that at least looks good but not tu they choose OSU, LMAO.

do all aggies have this unhealthy obssession with UT, or just you? I mean, do you really think it makes us mad or something that ut was down at the half? You do realize that ut WON the game, correct?

so you say going down by half time we lost the #1 ranking.. hmm.. and USC did what against Arizona and Notre Dame at halftime?

VT is where they are supposed to be... plus Bama is the only other team you can root for...

Oh snap you opened the wrong can of worms this time Jr.

This is so much fun so here we go, I hear people crying about USC being ranked over tu. Well there is a reason for such. I know USC had a few games where they went into halftime down and came back to win but unlike tu it was not against unranked opponents. It was against the likes of Oregon, ASU and ND all ranked when they played USC. Now I understand that ASU is no longer is ranked but the only 3 losses they have incurred are against top 25 programs two of them being USC and LSU so they are a good club when compared to oh lets say OSU? As for Oregon and ND they are respectively ranked at 10th and 11th in the BCS so that excuse won't fly when talking about come-backs. Heck even two of the Heisman candidates are from the USC program and returned last years winner of the coveted trophy. Currently VY sets atop the Heisman watch list so congrats for that. Then back to statistics and you have to look at the fact USC has taken two of the last three Heisman trophies given. So it really isn't hard at all to see why tu is setting in the passengers seat on the way to the Rose Bowl.

No but I didn't expect you to get it. I am speaking of what influences the human votes that make up part of the BCS scoring system as to why USc is rated above tu. They are influenced by the past which is why you see big flips in the top ten at the beginning of year in the polls. Teams come from no where and end up ranked like TCU and other teams fall sharply like OU. So the human voting factor is inherently flawed by past perceptions.

You really should keep up with what you write here ya go "Vick sucked and made the Miami D look great. 6 turnovers! lol
Overrated VT sucked and made the 2nd string Miami O look great."

So are they great or not? Man you really need to get your head out of your ass before you post up some BS like this. So either VT sucked and made an overrated Miami great or a great Miami team showed and out played a really good VT Team. Once again you kind of fucked this up, take the time to breath while you type

Where in the post above do you see the word "overrated", because I don't see it?

Are you really a teacher?

Miami is OK, but VT and Marcus Vick sucked and made them look great.

See, that's where you are wrong...

If Miami is great and VTech is really good then it would have actually been a game

You don't get to be labeled 'really good' and rack up an amazing 53 TOTAL first half yards.

You don't get labeled 'really good' and find the endzone ONCE during a 60 minute football game.

Sorry, Miami is a great team... but if anything that proves that VTech can't hang and couldn't hang with the top dogs this year.

but go ahead and tell me when you beat Texas over a decade ago (which by the way was a #9 vs. #13 game... not exactly a massive 'I hate VTech for life' upset), the last 10 years of Beamer ball breakdown, blah blah...

VTech got owned and put in thier place... which is 'Not a contender'
