Hardest Hitting Guy In The Nfl Today?

I personally think that Roy Williams #31 from the D.Cowboys is by far the hardest hitting safety or defensive player (For his size, around 6' 232lbs) in the league.

I watched a clip on him leveling players the other day on ESPN and this guy is unbelievable. I've seen some hard hitters but he puts a whole new meaning to the word hit.

Anyone agree??????

Funny story, a friend of mine who just graduated from A&M with a business degree was staying on some Hotel in Dallas and he got into an elevator with a black couple. He said this black girl was like the finest black girl he's ever seen was standing next to a guy, well he looked up and it was Roy Williams (W/his gf from Destinys child, cant remember her name) but he said R.Williams is Huge and his neck was the size of my friends thighs, lol, and he said Roys chest and arms are unbelievable, but he said "Are you Roy Williams? and Roy just gave him a half smile and said, "Whats up?" but he could tell that Roy knew he was looking at his girl.........lol

I have to vote for Brian Dawkins. Not only can he hit recievers hard, but he can bring the pain to huge RB's like Stephen Davis, and not to forget he leveled Alge Crumpler last year in the NFC title game so hard it made Crumpler throw up on the sidelines.

ESPN actually had a spot on Sports Center a while back and they gave the vote to Dawkins as well.

Do you think the tears coming form Emmett Smiths eyes were from“Tears of Joy” when Roy broke his collarbone? I think not,
Roy can level backs also.

How bout them Cowboys?

Call me optimist but I think we may make it to the wild card game this year!

I would like my kids to have one season of what it was like watching the
C'boys play from back in the day.

Bolt ons and still slow!

Anybody can pick up another guy and slam him, I'm talking about pure hitting and dont get me wrong, Brian Dawkins can lay a lick, but from the highlights Roy unloads harder when he hits...

Dawkins is a better overall saftey then Roy, he can also hit hard, but it doesnt compare to when Roy hits opponents.

Dawkins is for sure an overall better safety. Both hit as harder than anyone in the league. The thing that seperates the 2 in hitting IMO is Dawkins lays out LARGE guys like Crumpler, huge backs, and guys as big as Mike Alstott.

Roy hits hard but will never be of concern until he can learn to cover someone. But then again I am from Philly, and all we are doing is arguing over who likes their favorite team more

Both rock, end of story.

Roy has to be the biggest hitter in the league. Dawkins is pretty hardcoe too. I guess we should watch the game tonight before we decide.

i say ray lewis, its easy for roy to have some good cheap shots in, he plays deep and always has someone coming across the middle to level...he wont ever compare to ronnie lott...

yea.. Ronnie Lott was a bad m/f, but I've seen the 1992 cowboys season video when Jay Novacheck(SP?) ran with the ball and gave Ronnie Lott a good hit and set that fool flying...

nobody remember Roys last year at OU when they played against Texas.

when He Lit up Roy Williams of Texas. Williams(TEX) was giving an interview after the game and his quote was something like....."I am glad he is leaving after this year. It actually Hurts when He hits you." And Roy Williams(TEX) is no slouch on size and toughness himself.

and Yes as mentioned Earlier. Ronnie Lott and Chuck Cecil were trendsetters for todays Hitters.

roy only lays wr and old rbs, well small one too. but I remember ricky williams taking a hit head on and he kept right on running while poor roy just layed there...lol.

atwater was a mean mofo, who can ever forget when he layed out Okaye(sp?), and that is one big back.

there is one guy who played for az but I forget his name. that dude was just pure evil. all he ever wanted to do was hit you and knock you out of the game.

If some of you would have read clearly the post says: Hardest hitting guy in the NFL today, not 10 years ago, not 20.......

I agree though, Ronnie Lott use to knock the sh_t out of people and I guess thats why it's more fun to be a safety because you get the better shots than linebackers, etc do.......

I just dont really have a whole lot of respect for Ray Lewis because he has a bad attitude and if you listen to a lot of his interviews he just seems to be a prick all the time.

I dont know if any of you remember the 2 Cowdoy linebackers from the early 90's Dixon Edwards and Robert Jones, but those 2 guys use to hit like hell too....

roy williams for sure....the only thing setting these guys back are the new stupid rules....that take away from football....like the " hitting a defenseless receiver" or "horse collar"....those are really dumb and takes away some of the pain of football.

I think it's good that they have those rules, players are faster, bigger, and stronger now adays. Think how many players would be on the injured list after games, if some rules hadn't been put into play.

they are all bigger stronger and faster ...so that evens the playing fields....so why make new rules.....football is a contact sport and if you are out there...especially at that level you should know what your getting into.

Not saying I agree, or dissagree with Roy being the hardest hitter......... But does anybody remember what the name of the running back who stiff armed Roy williams off his feet and scored a touch down on thanks giving last year? They showed the replay over and over because he litteraly took Roy off his feet like he was a highschool player. Just curious.

thats what happens when you take the wrong angle. all your momentum is going sideways and when someone pushes you in that direction you cant help but come off your feet. have that running back go head up with roy and see what happens.

by the way.......im ready to see roy "k.o-t.o" when they play philly.
