Got my first liter Bike!

Well I sold my 2005 GSXR 600 and Picked up a 2001 GSXR 750. Well it's a 750 frame with a 1000CC engine. The engine is has all forged internals and is a beast. The guy claims it made 215hp at the tire, but he didn't have a dyno sheet to prove. It's got a set of Marchesini Forged Wheels. Well anyway here are a few pictures of it. I'm not worried about showing the plate as I have new ones on it now.

Nice. How is the transition from a 600 to 1000? I have been riding my 600 for a few weeks now and I never thought when I first got on the bike I would say "I am comfortable" with the power now. I am real curious to explore the 1000's now.

Well I honestly haven't got on it too much yet, but I have been loving the extra power as I'm cruising around town. I rolled into it in 2nd gear yesterday and it started spinning pretty quick. I figured I better get used to it a little more before I start really seeing what it will do.

I'm also trying to decide if I want to take off the 750 sticker or not. What are y'alls opinions?

For most people that's turbo type horespower, at the crank that's what 240hp, 240hp/liter NA on pump gas, sounds pretty damn tough to achieve doesn't it?

Honestly, this is out of my realm, ARH and grape would know more about this than me. In over a decade I've never seen anything above 200rwhp without boost/nitrous.

I also like the Forged Marchesinis with SHINKOS LOL - not even a drag shinko on the back either.

Anyways, the bike has some real potential IMO. Return it to normal height/length, get some proper tires, and you've got something.

I wouldn't remove the decal, if anything, I would add OEM style GSX-R and Suzuki logos on the lower in the color to match the blue. I wold also add the new style chrome/silver "S" logo to the tank. Give it a more finished appearance.

It is funny that you say that actually..... I was just watching his MotoGP videos and was thinking to myself I want to get on a track. I know I wouldn't be comfortable at all considering I would most likely be the least experienced guy out there but I wouldn't mind trying it. 2,000 miles on my bike in a month, you can't get me off this thing.

Oh and by the way, that comment was geared more towards how comfortable I am with the acceleration aspect of the bike, not necessarily the ability to ride like a pro. It was just when I first got on the bike I was like holy shit this is more than enough power. Now I get on it and I am like ok, I am used to this.

They divide people into groups by experience and it's structured. If you're the least bit coordinated you'll be fine.

It's the end of the season, but start planning ahead for spring. You'll want to make sure the bikes in good shape, your tires have plenty of tread etc. Might want to buy your own gear over the winter, but they'll rent you junk if you don't have any.

Like anything, you'll get used to the straight line speed rather quickly, it's the rest of the riding that's thrilling and difficult.

I was told it's an all forged internal 1000cc motor out of an 07' gixxer 1000. The guy that built the motor, builds motors for AMA racing. Now keep in mind, all I am going on is what the seller told me, but I can say this bike will fly.

Ahh, got it, I knew it had been sold out for awhile so I didn't bother posting it. There is also one track day left at MSR Houston later this month, but I didn't bother posting it. Didn't think a first-timer would make that sort of haul.

They are letting track day people ride their RC8 and RC8R for one full session for free, so all the spots filled up quick.

KTM Race Orange is excited to offer demo rides on the 2010 KTM 1190 RC8 and RC8 R Superbikes on the Nov. 6 RideSmart Motorcycle School track day at MotorSport Ranch in Cresson, Texas.

What better way to start off the month than riding a new motorcycle on the thrilling MotorSport Ranch racing course? The track day is one of RideSmart's regularly scheduled tour dates.

The KTM Race Orange semi will be on hand all day allowing RideSmart participants to test the 2010 KTM street machines. Only registered RideSmart riders will be allowed to ride the new motorcycles.

I've been around this junk for a minute now, I did my first GSXR motor swap in 2003, and even I don't know how to decode the motor #'s.

EDIT - if he posted pics of the motor I could figure out what gen it is.

I think they tweaked the looks a bit this year (or maybe it's just BNG!, lulz) and they are killer, but for 50% more than the BMW they shouldn't be down on power in comparison, just my opinion.

However, to me, they are the best looking bike out there.

There aren't any "VINs" on any Japanese sportbike motors. You have a hotline number or something? I would appreciate it if so.

I also incorrectly guessed the motor would be an 01/02 motor as it's the most straightforward swap for that gen.

Might have more nuts than I thought, but I highly doubt it has 215. That's busa on a bottle territory IIRC.

The numbers on your motor are indeed a group of numbers, but they are not a VIN, they aren't the same as your VIN, nor do they even have enough characters to be a VIN.

Did you get receipts for the motor work that was done ?
Unless you got them it.... was just a good sales story
I wouldn't believe 215HP w/o a dyno chart to prove it

215hp is Busa/1397/Cams/Headwork territory. I think if the 1K is a 1070 kit/cams/headwork it maybe possible. That being said I would Dyno it to see what it really puts out.
