Painting my bike or leave it alone

My bike has a little rash on it and i'm debating on fixing the rash and leaving it stock, or painting all the fairings white, or a color similar to this orange. Kind of just depends on price and all that, though going Saturday to get a quote.

What do you guys think?

STOCK: not my bike, but same scheme

ORANGE: I would only use a GSXR logo on the top of the side fairings and a Suzuki decal across the side

WHITE: I would only use a GSXR logo on the top of the side fairings and a Suzuki decal across the side

definitely scrap the yellow unless you really like it.

Rizla theme would be sick, but out of the two pics you posted, orange would be my choice.

Rizla is neat, but I probably wouldn't go balls out on the decals. Baby blue and some simple stock decals would look nice.
Agreed. The fewer the decals, the better. Not sure what prices are to paint fairings, but you might want to check around for a new set.

04. From what i've seen new fairings will be between 500 and 800, plus have to get the tank painted to match.

I'm not yet sure on the price for painting fairings yet either... just kind of a random idea that has popped in my head. If it's too much i'll keep the yellow and get the rash fixed, as it's just a small spot.

Yea, I am liking the white, plus it matches my truck. Tough decision!

I would most definitely need to get some decals as this body style looks very plain without decals.

The painter on the board I contacted already has some pearl white left from a previous job, so maybe it'll be discounted some.

markpreus? That's who I'd talk to. He has posted pictures of his work, and it looks like he does great work from the pictures. Be warned though. Pictures don't tell the whole story.

I painted my 07 gsxr 600 and the paint only cost me $100, another bike I had done for $250 and I supplied the paint, in all about $375. Paint is definantly cheaper then new plastics! Plus it won't look like every other bike out there when its done.

Keep in mind that it will hurt resale, but I say PAINT it!

Be thorough and get some decals done too. They will look best under the clear.

Nothing says crashed and broke like a half-assed solid color paint job (pearl white specifically, not sure why, but all broke-ghetto dudes seem to paint GSXRs "Escalade Pearl White", no stickers, and the paint has lots of chips). Bikes have lots of exposed mechanicals and a solid block of paint amongst an otherwise "busy" appearance just doesn't look right.

Decals make it look finished and there should be some continuity among them. That Orange bike would look so much better if the SUZUKI sticker on the fairing had the same black striping as the number plate on the tail section. Also, would look better with the "sponosor" decals removed. That's TOO busy looking. White rim-stripes would be a nice touch too.

I think repaints look cheap and usually look like the bike has been wrecked I would sell the plastics on ebay this winter and pick up some repo plastics like a corona theme, my buddy has bought two sets and the quality is pretty good

Stock is best IMO. Painted bikes scream "I've been wrecked" and kills resale.

If you don't care about any of that, white looks bad ass.
