2011 ZX-10R...207hp

Was just at the store and saw a magazine with the new 10R. Looks pretty bad ass and seems like Kawasaki's aiming for BMW with this new bike. Couldn't find anything online however, other than this pdf.

Bad ass! Kawi is always the HP king and I knew the new 10R would make some big #'s, especially since they delayed it one year.

I'm diggin' everything but the tach. Now I don't feel so bad about getting rid of my 08.

I've always liked the Z1K.

Buy a used one from a private seller or low-ball a few dealers. They've got about the worst re-sale going. Or if you know someone with a dealer license pick one up at auction for dirt cheap. They just aren't popular in the states.

Buy my 98 Civic 5spd - New A/C $2250 over 40mpg on the [email protected]

It will be interesting to see what the dyno shows. There has been a lot of hype surrounding the new ten for awhile now. If it can outdo the S1000RR there are going to be a lot of Kawasakis on the streets.

Tq is newton meters, converted to ft pounds it's 84.3. Still nice but it's right with last years BMW, which also has the ABS and traction control.

And remember back just a few years ago (okay about 15 or so) when a 1000 CC sportbike was hovering around 135 hp. Just imagine what a 1000cc sportbike will be making in another 15 years. 250 or 275? Should be interesting.

anyone see the new Ninja 1000?

Kawasaki brings back a familiar model name for the 2011 lineup with its Ninja 1000. Sourcing the same engine and chassis of the Z1000 streetfighter, the new Ninja adds a full fairing for sportbike looks and relaxed ergos for street-riding comfort.

F-1 cars are currently making over 300hp per liter naturally aspirated so it's very possible. I'd imagine if the hp wars keep heading the direction they are though the builders will start getting pressure from governments to slow them down.

I'm curious if deaths and wrecks have gone up since motorcycles are getting so much faster now.

they better get ready to buy some of those back after dissapointed customers dyno them and don't like the false advertising...........just like the 17K rpm R6 a few years ago.

if you guys are into the math......at a true 1000cc's you have to turn above 14K to get over 190

I actually like the older style factory exhaust on that bike, it had quad smaller pipes if I remember correctly... oh and I think it was bronze or gold. Doesn't sound pretty but sure did look it. My favorites were the Orange and the Green ones (Candy like)

Nice to see you post, I've been skeptical about the power these bikes are supposed to make as Kawi is known to post peak hp #'s with "simulated ram-air" etc.

Will be interesting to see what they do when they hit the dynos.

zx14's and the newer stroked hayabusa's don't make 200, my ass if a new 1000 will make 207 LOL. however when the 09 kawi 600 (not 636) came out and we were building the pipe, bone stock that bike made 4-5 better than the R6 and gsxr 600 of equal year. As for the honda, well it's a honda, it's heavy and makes jack shit for power after 3 months of hype every winter and gets it's ass blown off every year at daytona lol
