Picked up new bike today...PICS ADDED

I bought an Aprilia RSV Mille 1000R today. Not a bad bike. Nice litte 1000cc v-twin with a nice sound to it and a load of torque. Cant really play with it much yet though since I dont have a helmet anymore. Sold it with my bike last year, and with the cash I spent today on this, the wife aint letting me spend any more for a bit. I will have to suffer and just look at the bike everyday for now. Oh well, it is nice to have a bike again though. This is a lot nicer than the one I had last year. Some of you remember it, the orange (pink ) gsxr 1100 i rode on last years dublin ride. here are some pics for you guys.

note the OZ italian wheels, brembo brakes, ohlins suspension (front and rear)

yea i know it. That is what the wife said too. That it was plain. I will get some graphics on it eventually, but tags, ins, and gear is first. What is the old saying, "its not what you ride, but that you ride."

I really like Aprilias. I like the way it looks without the graphics. My personal preference. BTW. Where did the rash come from on the RH lower fairing near the bottom of the silver?

I dont think its bad looking at all. It looks like a bigger badder version of a 250cc GP bike.

I like it. I saw that bike on craigslist the other day and i definitely thought twice about it. i say its a good find for sure! i also like it just as it sits. get the rash and pipes taken care of and just ride it the way it is. hell no one will even think twice when looking at that bike sitting in the parking lot!

that sucks. It still looks great. I didn't notice it until about the 3rd time i scrolled through the pictures. Must of just fell over instead of getting off it wrong for it to not look too bad. Had a friend that got off his silver bike wrong and it left deep gashes in his. although his wasnt a nice ass aprilia.

as compared to what, those bikes you stunters use, that you pull all the farings off of, and put an enduro front piece on after you lay it down or flip it trying to do a stunt?

How'd I do? First time rider checkin' in...

Sup folks,
Just got back from buyin' my first bike.
1981 Honda 400 CM. Great 'lil starter bike if you ask me.. 10K on the clock, runs great, clean paint.. I thought the price was right at $900.
I took it for a spin around my business complex without any issues. First time on a bike, too. No stalls or nothin'! (yeah, I'll take a trophy)

Is anyone familiar with this bike? Any good places in central Arlington that service old Hondas?

Any advice for a brand newbie?
Thx,
Brad

Those ape hangers are waaaaaay too small. Jack them up 24" or so.

I saw a guy on one of those tonight, he must've been a tall fella, 'cause he was sitting on the back half of the seat...

Yours are not even close to ape hangers, but if you can imagine magnifying your handlebars times 2 or 3X in height, that would scratch the surface of an ape hanger...

Think 'Clyde' in Clint Eastwood's "Every Which Way But Loose"

Me personally, I would loose the 70's bufont style seat for a better more modern looking Corbin seat. But hey thats me.

For 900 skins with 10k, your riding brother. I might add not burning much gas either!

The Cycle Shop in Hurst. The guy is a guru and his prices are dirt cheap. Hwy 10 just west of US Sport Sales and east of Hurstview.

Owner is Rick, great guy. There is a guy in back that looks like the lead guitar player in ZZ Top! Talk about out of the 70's!

Damn, sounds like a deal and the bike looks to be in good condition. Does it use a drum brake in the back or a disk? I'm guessing drum. Just curious.
