Gsxr Progress

Well.....ive recently obtained my first 05 gsxr 600 back a few months ago and man did they mess her up. So ive been ordering parts left and right to fix it back up and get it nice again.
This is how it left my house the day i sold it.

And i got it back...like this.......

Slowly adding parts.......Stretched and Lowered

Shortened the Can lastnight

Now im just waiting on my Black plastics to get here so i can put the new upper fairing stay on and my nice undertail and get everything powder coated black. Going Stealthy on this one.
Soon to have a 1k motor in it.

Wake up and smell the Taco

What's the point of stretching it?

Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel, "Pick up your shovel, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the Promised Land." Nearly 75 years ago, Roosevelt said,"Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a camel, this is the Promised Land." Now Obama has stolen your shovel..., taxed your asses, raised the price of camels and mortgaged the Promised Land!

Ok gotcha, I wasn't sure if there was any performance value in it or not. I've seen some that are stretched and look ridiculous. Yours looks pretty good.

I hate to tell you but doing wheelies on longer swingarm bikes is much harder.
I don't know if it's the excessively long wheel base or it's due to the length of the swingarm changing the rear suspension, BUT IT SUCKS.

Good luck.
I thought stretching was generally drag only , or looks only.

Bob probably knows who I'm talked about...Is it Erock on the east coast that STUNTS (not just short wheelies, I'm talking high chairs, circles, the whole 9) that stretched GSXR with a 300 conversion. Chromed out, blk/slvr. I think it's an 05/06 GSXR 1K.

Bob - you might PM zosense (Darren) if you need some parts for that bike. He's bought/sold 4 or 5 of those gsxrs and had one for a personal bike for quite some time. I'm not sure what he's got left, but he did have a lot of spares. You never know, it's worth a shot.

nah it was pretty easy...just took a ran a piece of tape around the can so i had a line to work off of and used a small hacksaw to cut the carbon fiber then used a dremel to cut the piece of pipe on the inside down to length then riveted it all back together nice and clean

Home made license plate bracket....

The stock one was hideous. So a buddy of mine and I made another. Took forever (the metal peice to cover the whole is what took the longest) but came out pretty good (i think anyway) integrated led brake/turn signals on their way, should be here today in fact.

This is what it looked like before...and you can see why it sucked.

After a few hours...

Once I tightened it up it lost its form in the corners, easy fix though.

lol. Its funny you ask....I came back from riding and this was waiting for me. I am about to put it on. Half of it lights up an amber color (so it is a dual color led setup) and when the turn signals are not on it is all bright red.
