Not a Motorcycle but kinda. CARB PROBLEM

I have a Little Fox go-cart with a Sundiro 90cc 2-stroke engine in it. I am trying to find out what kinda of battery goes for this engine. All I know it is a 12v, but I aparently I need the correct amps as well.

My next question I think is easier to answer (I think); how exactly is oil injection supposed to be hooked up. The previous owner eliminated the injection, and just premixed the oil and gas. I know this is dumb as fuck, because it will mess the carb up.

Update: See last post.

The battery doesn't matter amp wise, just the voltage counts. As far as oil injection I have no clue. Why don't you just continue to pre mix it. If the carb gets gummed up clean it.

premix it. It wont hurt the carb if you use the correct ratio.

Buy whatever 12v battery will fit. As big as possible without adding too much weight.

Any lawn mower/motorcycle 12v battery will work. Generally speaking you take the size of the motor(cubic inches) and times two and the battery will need to have at least that many cca's. So a 90cc motor converts to 5.50 ci. Multiply by 2 and you get 11. So you'll need a battery that has at least 11 cca's which is any 12v battery for a lawn mower or motorcycle.

Go to battery plus in Arlington off Cooper/Mayfield and get a 12v for around $30 bucks.

They have huge Fiberglass covers to cover the engine.

More trans than Engine, lol. Anyone know how to fix a cvt transmission? The previous owner said it slipped.

alot of people block off the oil injection with two strokes, just make sure the mixture is right as it was stated before...some say it adds alittle power.

Where can you ride those on the FW side. I want to get one for my kids but just driving around the neighborhood would seem boring. I Figure a nice trail with some distance would be more fun then we can buy more of them and go as a family. They want a 4 wheeler but every kid in the neighborhood has rolled theirs and sustained damage to the quad and themselves I assume these are a little safer for my 12 and 6 year old to drive.

I am looking at 250cc 4 stroke as to be able to climb hills and make it over a jump or two with my big ass in it.

Update I took that seat off so I could get to the motor a little bit better. THe engine sparks fine, but doesnt run. Spray starter fluid and it runs which equals carb is f'ed up. Took the carb off so I can see what brand it is and the only label is a Champion? There is a funky label, but no writing. I tried to find some sort of carb rebuild kit, and I found nothing. All I got was this is some sort of moped carb.

new bike mpg's

with all the new bike posts in this forum, thought I'd ask, what kind of miles are you getting per tank? I posted on the gixxer.com forum that I was at 169 miles on a tank and only 12 miles on reserve and got a flame saying:
Your speedometer is messed up. No way you can get 169 and still have some miles left, especially if your bike is fairly new. You will definitely get more mpg once your bike is broken in around 1K or so, but unless you drove a full tank on the highway downhill with the wind behind you, kept it at 55mph and weigh 100 lbs- it is impossible to get 169+.

My speedodometer is messed up? lol. yes, I did get 169 and prob still had a good 20 miles to go on that tank. fool just needs to learn to drive.

my 06 gsxr1000 goes about 140 to the tank , and the drz400sm gets 145 to 2.3ish gallons. Btw the gsxr has full sys, stacks, bazzaZ zfm/self mapper, bmc filter so it should get alot better if it was stock .btw my buddys stock 05 gsxr1000 gets almost 200 to tank if he just commutes and no crazy riding. So to answer your question that guy is full of shit and needs to slow down and he would see a huge increase in mpg. I'm on that forum as well and there is a huge amount of douchnozzles on there.

How big is the tank? I never understood why people talk about miles per tank instead of mile per gallon. There's a lot more variables in calculating miles per tank vs miles per gallon in my opinion.

I agree with you, especially when you're comparing between different bikes; if all you're asking for is 08 GSXRs, then miles per tank isn't a bad barometer. However, if you're asking for a comparison between different makes, models, and years, miles per tank is rather meaningless.

But most bike tanks are so small, that even a half gallon could skew the numbers quite a bit. I mean it isn't like on every fill-up you run the tank completely dry and then fill it up all the way to the top. Depending on how far you stick the nozzle in the top, when various pumps shut-off, how much gas was left in your tank, etc all are a deciding factor in how many "miles per tank" you get. If you calculate exactly how much gas you put in vs how many miles you drove, a lot of the bs is cut-out.

Did you put a speedo healer on it? I know that most bikes are around 10% off so you would have been closer to 153 than 169.

Mine was off a little over 10% until I put the healer on it.

So how do you like the new 600?

Hopefully when I get back we can all line up a ride.

pretty fun bike with how much less it weighs compared to the Fz1 and feels tiny compared to the FZ1, lol, and looks tiny next to it. one thing I really like is the amount of aftermarket behind the gsxr to let me do more to it. Not much out there for the FZ1, unless you're in europe.
One thing I do miss when riding the gsxr is the power the fizzer has. had a run in with a gt500 on the highway today, and even though I still handed him his ass, it would've been tons more satisfying on the fizzer.

I've gotten close to 300 miles on one full tank on my CBR1100xx Blackbird on a highway trip averaging 75 mph. Around town I normally fill up once I am around 160-180 miles on the trip OD although if I were brave enough I could prollyl get 200 miles on a tank. On a trip to San Antonio I checked my mileage and managed 64 MPG on the highway. Around town my average is between 35-40. My tank is larger than most sportbikes at a little over 6 gallons.....but my bike is also considerably heavier than most which means they should get better mileage than I can.

I have a 08 600RR I just used the first tank of gas in it and I got 150 then the fuel light started flashing so I still had .9 gallon or so left...(I say "or so" because I put 3.5 gallons in it to top it off and these have 4.8 gallon take and thats including the .9 of "reserve"

I got 42 MPG

My 2006 XB12R gets right at 50mpg it only has a 3.3 gallon tank (riding like I stole it)

My 2008 1125R I just bought gets 26-28mpg (doesnt seem to matter how I ride it), its a a little over a 5 gallon tank.

It cruises at like 2,500 rpm going down the road that might have something to do with it. Plus it's fuel injected with custom tune.

The least I have ever gotten on the XB was 38mpg (calculated when I hit the closest store to fill up before getting on the hwy home), and that was taking it to Denton and hot lapping it around the 1/8th mile. we may have two different definitions of "riden hard" on a daily basis.......I dont stunt or ride wheelies but I will use every bit of the 7k rpm limit when I can

on my Kawai ZX6RR I only get 40-43 MPG on the highway ,, but it also turns 6-7 K in 6th @ 70 MPH

its -1 on the front sprocket too .. I have debated on swapping it out for a stocker just to see how much of a difference it makes

it is also running pig rich .. shooting flames and what not ( looks cool ) I have though about getting a PCIII and a tune and seeing how much that will help with fuel economey

I get about 125 to 130 before i have to switch to reserve. It usually takes a little over 3 gallons. It holds 4.8 so I figure Im getting right at 40 mpg. I do run it hard. It is carbed so that probably lessens the millage a bit.

I don't know if it's a twin thing or something, but Ducatis get killer gas mileage too. Usually over 50 even when ripping on it here and there.

Buy my 98 Civic 5spd - New A/C $2250 over 40mpg on the [email protected]
