kawasaki ZX10R anyone?

Hey guys..picked me up a new zx10r the other day..i notice i'll go about 50 miles before the damn fuel light comes on. now on my gsxr it would blink for a little, but i could still go about 50 miles before it would stop blinking and be solid..which told me i needed to fill up real soon.

on this bike..it seems after just 60 miles or anything the fuel light will start blinking..since i don't know the bike too much i'd usually fill up soon after i saw it come on.

I look in the manual today, it states that the fuel capacity is 4.5gal..and then it says later in the manual that the fuel light will come on when only 4.2 gal of fuel remains..this doesn't seem right to me at all..but im not too sure. don't really wanna chance it and end up on the side of the road haha, so i figured i'd see if there are any other ninja owners that can enlighten me somewhat. Thanks

btw its an 07 kawasaki zx10r

that makes no sense. why would the light come on after you've used less than half a gallon and still have 4 gallons to go (at about 31mpg)?? don't think you're reading that right or explaining it right. you should be able to get at least 135 miles on a tank.

you sure the low fuel indicator is on and not the Fi (fuel injection system) light?

Real men ride Cross Country! It's more challenging and fun to me. I get bored riding the same small track over and over. With cross country there's more obstacles and the course is long and always different.

No doubt you could smoke me on a MX track but I bet you'd be eating my roost on a XC course!!

I've seen 4 wheelers out there every time I've been. I'm sure they allow them.

IMO - Nocona might be the best track in TX. IMO - it's the best track in N Texas.

One of my friends wrecked real bad there and passed away after a 2 week battle in ICU.

In that case no. I don't think I could get out front in B class. Mostly because I wouldn't be able to keep the pace the entire race. I need to get back in shape!

Nothing gets you in better riding shape than seat time. Ride every weekend...a little cardio 3 times a week also does wonders.

Yeah, I remember those days.....riding almost every weekend, time for exercise during the week, those were the days!! This summer I'll have more time for riding once I change jobs.

Good ride today TX21 and slowimport. We did good to keep up with those guys that said they race in the Torn series.

Yup, got a little vid of it not much usefull. It looks like I am looking at the ground most if the time. Lasted about 25 minutes but only 60% with video. I did however get the section where I managed to drop my bike twice in about 4 seconds. I need to redo my setup to get better video.

Enjoyed the riding as well. New tire is a must asap. Might check cyclegear on today and see about that special. Cant beat $39 for a tire. Dont feel bad about dropping your bike a couple times, some of those rocks were crazy and once you slide to the wrong side of the hill, its all over.

Help with buying a bike

ok so i am looking at buying a motorcycle. i have never financed anything before and i have no credit so i am not sure how to go about doing all of it. i know that with no credit and no cosigner it will be hard or impossible to get approved but i thought i might try. i make plenty to make the payments on it each month and i was planning on a down payment of like $3000 or maybe more. i want to get an 07 or 08 model so that will probably run me about $9000-$10000 im thinking. does anyone know a way that i can get the financing? i thought of going to a bank and seeing if i can get some kind of first time buyer loan or something but im not sure. any help would be great.

just thought I'd let you know that banks see power sports items as a luxury, not a necessity, so it's harder to get financed on than a car or anything else.

Also, it doesn't matter how much you put down with power sports items. It's either just a yes or a no.

New rider? Ever ridden a streetbike?

that 3-4k you're talking about putting down on a fancy new highly depreciable bike would be MUCH better spent on a NICE used bike.

Course if you don't mind debt, by all means.

New rider? Ever ridden a streetbike?

that 3-4k you're talking about putting down on a fancy new highly depreciable bike would be MUCH better spent on a NICE used bike.

Course if you don't mind debt, by all means.

Agreed. If this is your first bike than I highly recommend getting a good used 600 sport bike.

If you're trying to get financed at a dealer, then most of those are done as credit card. For example, I went to the Honda dealer to get my new dirt bike and asked them who they used for credit and they told me HSBC (which is a credit card company). So, I called them, got the info, applied online and got approved. I then shopped around knowing I had control. I made the payments for a year, then paid it off once my credit scored raised to the level I was looking to get it to.

Anyway, if you want to build your credit, then you should buy the used bike and take the title to your bank and then take out a loan using your bike as collatarel. You can use the $$ for whatever, just be honest with the loan officer and they will get you the proper loan.

Like I mentioned earlier, pick a brand or a dealer and ask who they use for financing and then call that bank or credit card company (most likely) to get approved. If you get approved for $3k, then you know what you have to work with once you get to the dealer.

You'll kick your self in the nuts if you get a new bike. You WILL drop it being on the street or your drive way. Something stupid WILL happen and you WILL drop it.
